I think I've partially decided to give in and watch Supernatural and Fringe (Josh Jackson, yes please).

Are either going to be imminently cancelled or have they turned a sucky big one the previous season to make me not want to watch it and fall in love and then be crushed?

WATCH FRINGE! It's so, so amazing! I will say that it starts slow, but by the two-parter in the middle of S1, it becomes really, really awesome. (As does Olivia, but the show and her character are bound pretty tightly, at least for me.) I also thought the middle of the past season (S3) dragged, but it was interspersed with some excellent ones, and then they ended with a trilogy that became perhaps my favorite episodes of the show. But by and large, yes, it is the best show on TV right now. There's a competently-thought out mytharc, amazing characters and character relationships, and all kinds of sci-fi coolness with many gasp-inducing twists and turns. Think X-Files meets Alias, but with an actual masterplan.

And it got miraculously renewed for a fourth season a couple months ago, so they will definitely have time to deal with the giant game-changing cliffhanger they ended this season on. And I think everyone's pretty sure S4 is going to be the last--the ratings just aren't there--so with any luck they will not try to end S4 on a cliffhanger.

Aww that's sad about season 4 being the last. I only go into it this early summer!!

Yeah, it is unfortunate, but honestly, I think everyone was shocked to get a fourth season at all. The ratings have been hanging out in the 1.2-1.5 range, which is pretty awful for network TV, even on a Friday night. (Obviously, the American people have no taste.) I think what saved it was getting a really, really amazing deal from the production company, plus the combination of critical acclaim and the Fox CEO's apparent love for the show.

Haha, question: the thing that drove me nuts was that EVERYBODY in the main cast had an accent that I heard every time they spoke. Did it bother you??

I can tell Anna Torv is covering up an Aussie accent, both because she occasionally drops an "r" at the end of a word and because her "a"s are especially flat, like she's overcompensating. I think she got miles better over the past three years, though, and I almost never notice it now.

I know John Noble's Aussie as well, but his accent sounds perfectly upper class Boston to me. (Keeping in mind I'm from Tennessee, and know little about Boston accents!) Josh Jackson's from Vancouver, and sounds completely neutral/newscaster American to me, as do Jasika Nicole and Lance Reddick (who I think are both originally from the southern US).
