So the last thing I posted was about my near pancake miss. Lots of stuff happened since then. I bought all new parts except for a front fairing for my bike. Which means I got a new swingarm, left mirror, and frame sliders/spools. I haven't put on the swingarm yet because I would need to go to D&S and they can put it on for $100. I'm waiting till tax returns to pay for that.
Three weeks ago I had my first REAL interview with a potential company. I felt that it went pretty well but then 2 weeks ago they said they had chosen someone else. The guy I was in contact with doesn't work for them but is a recruiter so he told me the guy they did choose probably had more experience. I was bummed yes, but I'm glad I don't have to go 60 miles a day just to get to work and back! There will be other Help Desk jobs and I'm still on the lookout. I've been applying to at least 3-5 jobs each day (at least when they post that someone has a help desk position open). I finally believe that working my way up through IT will probably be the best route for me since I didn't get a major in something like engineering. I worked the help desk at UP and was also the Resident Computer Consultant for 4 years, so companies that look at me can see that I have some credentials and want to exceed in the field. I am also looking into getting my A+ certification which is the basic knowledge of computers and the IT department.
That same day I had the interview, Warren had taken me, so on our way home we decided to swing over to a car dealership. Warren wanted me to check out a car he had already looked at. Now, Warren had been looking at Honda Civics for awhile, pretty much since I met him he had been looking at them so I took this one visit to the dealership just like all the others...we were just looking and not buying. But then we took it for a test drive and about a hour later he had signed the papers so they could hand over the car to him. It took me by surprise! Now his Vette is hiding in the garage with his insurance in hibernation. And because he put his bike in "hibernation" as well he gets cheaper insurance for his new civic then if he had just the other two vehicles! Makes me really want a new job badly so I can finally get a freaking car!
I hear this winter is suppose to be very wet and cold (looking outside right now and it's pouring!) no doubt that this will mean great snow! But riding a bike in this type of rain blows. I bought new rain overpants and a heated vest liner so hopefully that will slow my hands from getting numb and my jeans from getting wet. They work pretty good so far.
I pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Brotherhood the other day because Warren found a $12 off deal at NewEgg! I thought I was going to buy it later because I can never find any kind of deals before games actually come out but because he found that deal I decided to get it. I finally finished Assassin's Creed 2 after my Xbox somehow deleted all 10+ hours of progress I had gotten to, back in March. I don't know why that happened but then I had a couple hours before I'd beat the game and I decided to shutdown the Xbox till the next day. The next day I booted it back up and my most recent progress had not been saved! I was so pissed again! I almost just said "screw it" and wasn't going to play it anymore, but of course I had to. And finishing the game made me want the next game even more! Game companies really know how to get their gamers coming back for more!
Halloween came and went...while I was working that is lol. I don't really care for Halloween much anymore. Warren doesn't like to dress up and I had to work that night so dressing up for me was out of the question. I remember when Halloween was my favorite holiday! You get to dress up as anyone or anything once a year? I wish I could do it every day! I even had to work on Tuesday when TNC had their costume get together. I was so pissed because I didn't even know I was working that Tuesday until my work called 20 min after I was suppose to be there!
Such is my life I guess... FML!
