Well money seems to be the big problem now. The state doesn't have enough and the county doesn't have enough even thou someone says they are sitting on money not wanting to spend it because it would ruin the county's chance to borrow money.
All the county employees have to take 10 days of furloughs to save the county money. The unions are fighting it in court. Fire stations will close 8 hours a day to save money unless the volunteers keep the stations running. No unnecessary driving or idling of vehicles.
The FBI is investigating some people working in the fire chief's office and other county officials for land deals.
The volunteer fire and rescue association just had its convention and election of officers and they are ready to prove the county wrong on their treatment of the volunteers and taking away the means to collect money to keep things running.
The volunteers are ready to show the county where they are wasting money.
I worked at the county fair to recuit more volunteers but the weather was bad one day and it lost money and the crowds to work on.
I am waiting to see what happens come Nov 4, 2008. Who is going to run this country and how it will be done.
In this county and state it will be 2 more years to change the crap running it into the ground now.
The worst thing is to wake up this morning and hear that a state police medivac copter crashed this morning killing 4 and 1 lived just a mile from where I work.
The state had a great safety record with the helicopters they bought back in the 80s. It was sad that it happened. They tried to return to their hanger with 2 patients because of the weather but they never made it.
They didn't find it for 2 hours because it was in a park in the trees in the dark.
Well what could be next.
