Last talk with my best friend

What was it like to die, Paul?

You know we talked about death about a million times over the years.

What did you see?
What did you feel?
Where did you go?

I remember you saying once that you wanted to be looking at the stars when the end came. You always did dream of journeying into space. And although you died in an ambulance, I hope, I pray, that somehow, you found your way to the stars, after all.

Regrets? For me, really only one. I always wanted to tell you that I loved you. But I never actually said those words to you, did I? I never even hugged you once in the 37 years we knew each other. I knew you didn't like the "touchy-feely" stuff, but truly, Paul, I did love you - more than you could ever have guessed, and more than mere words can possibly express.

I will miss you always. Thank you so much for being my friend.

Peace,
-Scott
