Tiny trophy

Found a little (literally little!) family treasure tonight - one I'd forgotten I even had. It's this tiny baseball trophy from the Little League team my dad coached, 50 years ago.

Soon after, I also found a box with some old family albums and scrapbooks that my mom put together. In one of the albums was this picture. You can see the same tiny trophy there on the table, right in the middle. And that's fuzzy 5-year-old Me in the background wearing Dad's Little League All-Star baseball cap...

One of my earliest memories is of me in the back seat of our car with Dad's cap on, and then sticking my head out the driver's side rear window. Of course, the hat flew off my head and was instantly lost on the freeway. I thought Dad would be angry with me for losing his cap, but he wasn't upset at all. Hardly anything upset my father. How I wish I'd inherited his temperament instead of my mother's...

Anyway, I was happy to find that little trophy! It's going to be included in my family shrine now for sure. ^^
