On the mend

Had my last physical therapy session yesterday. Oh, that's right, I never mentioned here that I injured my left shoulder back in January! Well, you know me - I prefer not to talk about health issues until they're in the past tense, and this latest one is just now starting to feel like it's resolving.

Before this, I had no idea shoulder injuries took so long to heal, nor did I realize it was so easy to hurt one in the first place. Trust me, you do not want to screw up a shoulder! Mine wasn't even that big a deal compared to most, but it still meant half a year of pain and impairment.

Anyway, I'm guesstimating that I have about 2/3 of my range of motion back, which was enough for the PT folks to cut me loose. All I have to do now is keep up the exercises they gave me and I'll be right as rain in another month or two.

What an ordeal, though. Had this happened even just 10 years ago, I doubt it would have affected me much at all, but old bodies are much more easily damaged, and can take much longer to heal, too.
