And there's a very confused Ren standing in the hallway watching the... puppy? pouncing on Rai. He'd heard the commotion and come out to investigate, but he hadn't been expecting... well, anything like this.

"Rai? What's that?"

"A dog? I think?" Who knows! "It came out of a vending machine." He looks confused enough while he's saying it that it might actually sound true.

He looks dubious at best. "A dog... came out of a vending machine?"

He crouches down and holds out his hand to the... thing. "Besides, it doesn't look like any dog I've ever seen."

"It was in this thing." Rai tosses the pokeball over to Ren.

Growlithe sniffs Ren's hand cautiously, then starts wagging its tail.

He catches the ball, but it doesn't exactly make the situation any clearer. He eyes Rai, expression clearly asking what combination of drugs produced this effect, while he starts scritching the... dog... behind its ears.

"It was in a ball?" Rai'll have to excuse him for the parrot imitation. The dog is weird.

Rai nods. He doesn't get it either.

The 'dog,' in the meanwhile, is happily accepting scritchings, tongue hanging out, all in all looking quite adorable. And weird, yes. "Growl!" :D

...Did it just say 'growl'?

Ren is just going to have to continue with the scritchings, watching the 'dog' with complete confusion, cause, really, what else is there to do?

Rai is as confused as Ren is, really. And about to get even more confused, when a little puff of flame comes out of the 'dog's' mouth.

"What...what was that?" o_o

Ren jerks his hand back, blinking rapidly. It hadn't seemed about to attack or anything, but who could tell for sure?

"It breathes fire?"

"Groooowl." He looks sad that the pettings stopped. :<

"I...I don't know. That's what it looked like..."

Well, he can just stay sad for a bit, then, cause now Rai is the one getting the very odd look. This one isn't confused so much as '...wut'.

"I'm pretty sure it more than just looked like fire."

"...did it...?" If you got burned, Ren, be prepared to have Rai go all 'D: YOU GOT HURT NOOO.'

'Cause he will.

He's fine. He's very fine. See? Watch him roll his eyes as indication of just how not-hurt he is.

"A fire-breathing dog that you got from a ball that came out of a vending machine... Are you keeping it?"

"I was hoping it'd kind of...disappear after I got far enough out of the main part of the Nexus." He's going to be embarrassed now, pardon. Puppy is off to sniff things.

Ren drops down to slouch against the wall, watching the 'puppy.' "Doesn't look like it."

"No, it doesn't."

A short pause, and then Rai remembers that he talked to Vergil earlier. Oops. A few moments of digging around in his pocket produces a repaired necklace. "Ren?"
