[Emotional equillibrium can be obtained with:

A) Sake
B) Time
C) Catnaps
D) All of the above.

All and all, it's good to be a woman instead of a girl again, today of all days. She's doubly glad that she's inside. Vaguely, she wonders what happened to her old campsite.]Maa, the weather outside makes me glad I've got nothing to do. I can just sit ( Read more... )

but inside can be better than out, trolling out of gratitude, snow snow snow, anyplace is good for a catnap

[He's been out in it ALL DAY LONG, but also wears a protective force field and flies around in conditions far worse all the time. So, you know, not the same.]

Kind of takes me back to my days as a kid, when we'd get our first snow. Back when your first thought was, "School's out!"

[Well, that sounds like a pleasant memory. She wouldn't mind hearing more about it.]

School's out - and then what? How would you pass the time?

Plenty of things. Slide down the ice, snowball fights, some street hockey. Once there was enough snow, we owned the streets.

[Typical city boy, this one.]

Sounds like fun. Do you still like to play in the snow?

[He thinks back to that icy moon with Shayera...]

Not much these days.

It is a bit cold for running around.

And I'm getting a little old for that.

Too old for fun? That's a shame.

[You're talking to someone well in her two hundreds, after all.]

My lifestyle doesn't exactly leave much time to devote towards my own amusement.

Maaa, that's a shame. You sound like someone else I know. [Several someones, actually.] But what about here?

I keep myself busy. What about you?

I don't think you're ever too old for snowball fights.

Unless you're the Captain-Commander. Because that would just be... [She trails off and shudders dramatically.]

[He's unflappable about this! And maybe, maybe just sour because he hadn't played in the snow for years... until Shayera.]

Captain-Commander? What makes him exempt for your snowball rule?

One: I've never seen the man smile.
Two: The beard. Just... the beard.
Three: He's as old as dirt. Maybe older.

And four? ...he's the Captain-Commander.

[If he stepped out on the field no one would have a chance. He'd burn them all up and melt all the snow and they'd just be dead. There is a firm nod to accompany this thought.]

Sounds like a real hard case. So why are you inside, instead of out playing in the snow?

Because it's pretty to watch, just like this.
