IT HAS BEGUN!!
Just sent an email to a school in Temescal looking for a teaching assistant.
For the past few months now Ive been getting ready for my job search. Lightly perusing job listing sites. Seeing whats out there, getting a general idea of what schools are looking for. I have a list of schools bookmarked that aren't necessarily looking to hire but do list teaching assistants on their faculty roster.
My plan:
*Fling my resume across the four corners of the Oakland Unified School District.
*Apply to job listings on craigslist and edjoin.org.
*Check out local bar/restaurant/coffee/patisserie shops just in case.
I am so excited to see what will happen next! Will I be an assistant teacher? A volunteer and barista? Homeless?
Normally I would be a nervous fucking wreck but Im trying to be positive about this. I wanted a change, Im certainly getting one. And I know that I will at least get A job. If not the one I was originally trying for. Things will work out. Things happen for a reason. The fun part is finding out why!
