What the hell...?
I have never wanted to knock on my neighbor's door and ask, "What the hell are y'all doing?" as much as I do right now. It seriously sounds like an apartment full of people in the place above mine chanting in unison. There sounds to be more females than males, but one male does have a deep countering chant that weaves in and out of the main chant. It's either gibberish, or in a language that I don't know. And it's definitely NOT singing - it sounds very ritualistic. They're certainly not trying to be quiet either. Holy crap! They finally stopped! The sustained it for a really long time! Now there's a bunch of chair sliding...well, if you're going to chant forever, I guess it would be best to be sitting down for it. Is today something special? Is there a cult above me, or is this something normal from a different belief system? I've been sitting here a really long time listening to them trying to discern what they were saying, or if they were doing anything along with chanting - I couldn't tell for the life of me on both accounts. (sigh) Mysteries. If anyone has any idea what they might have been doing, I'd love to hear it!
