Oh, come on. You know very well that Hector would never give his blessing for something like that. I'm excited for other people who might want to get married.
I find it amusing that you don't deny this. Really, this is a sign of lapse mentality. Start looking for a planner and a cake, and a good hospital for when Hector finds out.
Not that I care who gets married or not, I can't be biased since I've dated men myself. I don't see why it's such an issue anyway.

...we've only known each other for a few months. There's no wedding planned. I'd settle for just seeing him in person now and then -- or at all. I'm going through post-vacation depression at the moment, and not being able to see him doesn't exactly help that.
...don't say that. A year without being able to see him in person would be miserable. It's really easy for you to talk anyway; you're allowed over there all the time.
I'm allowed over when Hector wants to see me, that doesn't always mean all the time; you forget that just as much as Hector is the main wall in you seeing the kid...the kid is the main wall in my having time to talk to Hector.
There's a little more involved in what all Hector does with the kid than just having him read books, unfortunately that's bound to get more complicated with time too so free time is bound to get scarce.
I'm not a fan of it myself but I suppose this is the point where most people say to be optimistic.
