Well, wow, over a week since I've posted here ... let's see, did anything happen?

I've been plenty busy. Last weekend was shul on Saturday, then tabling at the Farmers' Market followed by the conservative meetup on Sunday.

And Saturday, of course, was the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, on which I'll have more to post shortly.

The Farmers' Market went well, as it always does; we had six or seven positive interactions with passers-by, and only one hostile one. (A lady walked by and shot over her shoulder, "Too bad he missed!" And, not getting any reaction from my buddy and myself, who were engaged in conversation and had no interest in background noise, she repeated it again, louder, from a few paces further away. Some people have nothing going on in their lives.)

I'm always amazed at the number of fellow conservative / Republican / pro-Trump people who come up and say things like "You're so brave!" or "I hope you're wearing a flak jacket!". The truth is, while our area is Democrat-majority on paper, we have a tremendous amount of support. Because of our proximity to Portland, people tend to lump us in together with Portland, but WE ARE NOT PORTLAND. Every one of those people who come up to us to say hi, or who give us a thumbs-up or a high-five or a "Let's go Brandon!" - they probably think they are the only ones there, but they're not. And that's the main reason I do this, and it's what I love about it.

I promised myself I'd make July the calendar month when I finally, FINALLY get serious about getting back on the exercise horse, and I'm pleased to report that I've been doing that. I've been doing daily walks (20 minutes) and cardio (5 minutes), and near-daily runs (now up to 20 minutes). I skipped today's run, only because it's pretty hot (over 95 F) and I've got a bunch of indoor stuff I need to catch up on. But the big thing is: my runs are now something I look forward to, not something I dread.

The "indoor stuff" includes getting ready for the upcoming County Fair and another local event, also scheduled for this weekend, where our Party is to have an official presence. My job includes (but is not limited to!) filling in the paperwork to secure the venue, setting up the volunteer schedule, and getting the word out.

And all of these are duties which I must attend to anon. Hence, I'll finish this post here and now. [429]
