Trip Overview
Woke up: 4:45am
Left house: 5:40am
On the road: 6:15am
Arrive in Boston: 11:00am
Info Session: 2:00pm
Tour: 3:00pm
So right now, I am sitting in the parking lot of New England Tech in the middle of Warwick, Rhode Island while Kyle takes a 2 hour test that apparently no one knows is about. I'm hijacking someone's internet and I'm not really sure whose....
But back to the trip. My dad said we should have left the night before... we got there three hours early! So we ate in the car the PB&J's we packed and tried to look for bathrooms. At first we tried McDonald's but their's were closed. Then I was like *light bulb!* we're across the street from a Barnes and Noble, they always have bathrooms! So we go in and its this magnificent 5 story bookstore.... I thought I was in love... well actually, I'm pretty sure I was. Anyhow, we find the bathrooms all fine and dandy but they're single person bathrooms. The men's room is occupied and smelled terrible so poor Kyle who had been holding his shit since he woke up still was waiting.
Then we decided to walk around a bit and see some of the BU campus since that's what we were there for. The fucking campus is soooo long! when we finally got back to the car it was an hour before the Info Session and we were seriously debating against the tour since we thought our legs were going to fall off between intense walking/sitting for a 4 hour car ride/waking up before the crack of dawn. But we did it anyway. The Info Session was helpful because you got the opinions of an admissions officer and 2 Undergraduate Sophomores which was really helpful, especially since they only talked for 15 minutes and then we got to ask questions for 45 minutes.
Then we did take the tour which was nice and I enjoyed it. We got to see a couple of things that we had missed and we were told a couple interesting things that I hadn't known/wasn't covered in the Info Session.
So then after this we just decide to drive into downtown Boston. Not a good idea. We got super fucking lost because THE ROAD DON'T MAKE ANY SENSE. They run in all weird ass directions and make a bunch of squiggly patterns all together like a bad fucking modern art project :| But all in all it was kind of fun/stressful. Finally, we say "fuck this" and drive back out [eventually] and park [where we were parked originally] and decide to take the T. Mind you, the only time I've ever done a subway was in Madrid and Kyle has never done it and was more clueless than I was. But this lady helps us and finally we pick a train that seems like it will take us to the middle of Boston.
We panic after two stop and get off. Yea, about two streets from where we got on :P So then we walk through Boston Common and the Public Garden and stuff and decide, what the heck, we'll just mosey around and try to find some stuff. We get lost in Chinatown which seemed to be the slumiest area =/ And it's getting dark. So we panic, try to get on this one T but its not going where we want, so we leave and find another T that will take us where we want to go [which we only knew after a couple minutes of panicked deliberation].
We finally make it back to the station we got on and decide lets get the hell out of Boston.
