And now for Something Completely Similar...

I realised when I was writing that last blog on feminism, that I stepped upon something that I've never addressed.

The Other Thought Police.

Everyone's familiar with the concept of George Orwell's thought police in his gripping novel 1984 . And in today's society, when we say thought police, we're often describing those who tell us to use PC terms (aka Newspeak). We're also usually talking to white Christian males, whose views are supposedly racist/sexist/elitist. We never discuss the flipside of this.

That's right. White men aren't the only ones who are told how to think and feel. Groups like NOW (National Organization for Women), and people like the Rev. Al Sharpton, constantly tell large groups of people how to think and feel. And if you don't feel that way, you're to be pitied, because you just don't see how wrong it all is. Why do we let these types of people have that kind of power over us? Why should I not only feel belittled but also outraged by it if I don't feel that way in the first place? I am perfectly capable of coming to my own conclusions. I certainly don't need an organisation to tell me how to think and feel about what I see or how I've been treated. I have a brain, and I choose to use it.

I'm sure somewhere deep down, I'm sorry that I don't feel repressed. Or maybe not, because I sure can't find it.
