Albany Gameday. YAY!

Well, ultimately we had a fun time. Played a couple of interesting games and met some fun gamers. Overall it was a success.

We played 3:16: Carnage among the Stars. That was an interesting game. It is a half-board game, half-shared narrative rpg. You are space marines or troopers and the system is simplisitic. You have Fighting Ability and Non- ( Read more... )

Wow. You aren't the first person to set off the alarm because the lock wasn't working. I've heard that George can have a short temper. Sorry about that. He really is a decent guy otherwise.

I'm glad you had fun and I enjoyed playing 3:16 with you too.

Yeah, 3:16 CIS was a unique game. A mesh of two gaming formats that was different for me (rpg/war game). I'll have to check out that company and see what else they have going on.

I'm glad i got to play with you this time around. It was hilarious. The chance to re-define the nature of fire holes WAS a lot of fun! :D

It was great to play both 3:16 and Barbarians of Lemuria. I've already picked up the PDF for BoL and my FLGS (Back of the Closet Games in Auburn) will be getting this for me when it goes to reprint in January.

I'll admit that the lock thing was both frustrating and a little insulting, especially when I took the time to 1) Aplogise for setting it off, 2) Explain that it was NOT obvious that the store was closed and 3) Show that we stayed around just so that no one would think the place was getting robbed.

It was an honest mistake and he directed his anger at us instead of at the door or his own failure to be there when we were told to be there. That and the "This is what I get from all you f-ing gamers" an so on was a big insult to us and the customer base in general.

But, all in all, it was still a GREAT day and the gamers and especially the GMs made it a terriffic time, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Wow...just Wow!

Zombie Planet huh? Not that I am in Auburn much but he wont be getting any of my money ever if & when I do visit.

I miss playing other stuff besides D&D.

Don't get me wrong...I love the old gal, but sometimes its nice to get a little piece of strange. ;)

Zombie Planet is in Albany. It is the homebase for Eden Studios, too. (buffy rpg, city of heroes, i think Conspiracy, etc).

Yeah, that was a moment that that gamestore will never be able to take back for me. Way over the line.

Yeah, ZP is in Albany.

The local Auburn store is Back of the Closet, and though they're still a small store, they treat you a whole lot better.

I've been in Albany twice since the incident, where my hotel for the week was less than a mile from ZP, and I still waited to do my game shopping elsewhere. (Dragon's Den in Poughkeepsie and Numbskulls in Queensbury/ Glens Falls- both excellent, gamer friendly stores if you are in the area....the owners and employees actually LIKE gamers.)
