Hey all. Been a bit since i last posted. settling in and taking care of all the little things has been almost as tiring as moving in the first place!

But i am better now. :)

Work has been slow the last couple of weeks though, giving me time to rest a bit and work on things on the new homefront. I have been hanging out some with the guys down at the ( Read more... )

Yo! Voz de Fuego in da hizzzzzz

Well, I have been going about globe trotting and I have finally settled in sunny California. San Jose, to be exact (aka Shark City). I am engaged to a lovely woman named Kristina, and we shall be wed at the end of the year. I work as a copy/editor at a marketing/advertising agency named Purematter (www.purematter.com), where I get paid a decent amount of money.

On the gaming front, I am just started running a game of Changeling: The Lost after running a year and half stint of Exalted (never again will I run that game). My hair is now short, and I have few more tattoos. And that is it.

what i find so amusing about this comment is how i explained my occupation as a copy/editor ... and the body of text includes a gross grammatical error. Rock.

Yes...i always thought it was pronounced 'hizzy', not hizzzz. :D

Sounds like you have it going on, Vos. We both seem to have serious SO's, good jobs, new homes...what the hell is all that about!?

Although i have long hair now. Working in a shop with no clothing restriction is quite liberating. We always seem to flop things with each other. East coast, west coast. You go to crunchy games like D20 and Exalted, i now lean towards indie games with 8 pages of rules. You have short hair, i now have long hair. You work in a corp that probably serves the man oppressing the people and eating babies, i build custom cabinets and counters for a lot of families where i listen to rock music and wear ratty jeans and t-shirts and stare out of the shop doors that hang open half the time.

It's Crazy Yo!

I still have a dream of creating a game that utilizes d12s.

As for crunch and fluff in games, it really depends on my mindset. I mean, Savage Worlds is awesome ... but then again I dream of Weapons of the Gods sometimes. Oh, and Nobilis (the best game of all time) is coming out with a third edition this year! I still miss gaming with you, as you were one of the best gamers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Oh, are you still a Raiders fan? I live like hella close to that team, and i have many stories about their insane fans.

But yeah, it is sorta weird that you are the iconoclast and I am the square. Who woulda thunk it.

I have heard that Savage Worlds is a good game. I haven't gotten a look at it yet. I know that Weapons of the Gods is also supposed to be good, if not a bit crunch-tacular.

Hey. Raiders for life, pal.

So, do you still see the ol' circle from time to time? Short Derek? Cynical Derek? etc etc

I've taled to Tim a handful of times via email. Other than that, nope.

It just isn't in the stars, i guess.

Wow. one year old? damn!!

Awesome work news!!! At least my job picked up the last couple weeks.

Yeah, the do it all at once doesn't seem like such an amazing idea any more. Maybe we should start having people over already. We can feed them to the cats if nothing else.

Getting together sounds cool. Maybe we can do some sort of one-shot game?

Yeah. Kat is going away this weekend and then her sister is staying with us next week. So maybe the week after when everything has quieted down. What is your schedule like? Email me.
