Well she shouldn't have mouthed off at me like that!

So Keisha decided that she wanted to have a go in the black belt tournament on Monday night- even though she had only just progressed to blue belt (which I was very proud) So I though that it would be a good learning experience for her. Now black belt tournaments are generally pretty amped up and a lot more violent the other tournaments, as you would expect.

She ended up beating 4 black belts and 2 red belts in the preliminaries (she didn’t lose a bout), and took a monster hit to the face in the last point on the last bout- talk about lucky. The shot landed just below her head protection and just above her eye protection- and I must say she took it like a man:)

Everyone was beyond impressed at her fighting- she really rose to the occasion and fought better than she has ever fought before. There has been much discussion about progressing her faster through the belts, and it is much more likely to happen now.

We decided to put off the finals till next week due to the fact that she couldn’t see. She faces me next Monday.
