I don't know if this is real or not, but I sincerely hope that it is. I know a lot of fans have issues with the new voice cast, but I actually think that these are fantastic (if they're real.) I've always had a problem with James's voice actor. He always sounded like a whiny little bitch, in my opinion. The fact that he has a deeper voice now is better because, well, if you're a sex-crazed wifekiller, you ought to sound at least slightly assertive.
Eddie sounds fantastic as well. He still has that trashy accent, which is lovely, and he also sounds completely batshit insane, which is very important.
I dig the hell out of Maria. There was nothing wrong with the old voice, but the new one is so throaty and sexy. I love it. She sounds like a dangerous temptress, just like she ought to.I also like the fact that she sounds almost identical to Mary. One issue that I had with Silent Hill 2 was that for all the talk of Mary and Maria being fundamentally the same person, they really had no aesthetic similarities at all. This voice change is great because, well, if I were James, I'd be damn spooked if I heard a woman who I'd never seen before talking like that.
I cannot wait to hear Angela. She is one of my favourite characters in the franchise and I have a great deal of difficulty getting my friends to like her because she sounded so weird.
I actually decided to break down and buy an x-box strictly for the HD releases of the games. I saw the cover and that's what sold me.

I broke down and started a Silent Hill 3 game the other night (there was drinking. There were jokes about Heather's drug use. There was shanking of Closers with the knife for the lulz. There were steel pipe sillies. There was talk of skinning Silent Hill so that you're running around fighting teddy bears and rainbows so that Iris can play too lolol Rik and I also decided that my Halo of the Sun tattoo is going to encompass my entire back) but I am going to wait until I get the HD collection before I play Silent Hill 2, because it's my favourite and it'll be worth the wait.
Annnyfuck, I saw this about the upcoming movie. I really have mixed feelings about this so far. I really think that Adelaide Clemens looks like Heather, but I know nothing of her capabilities as an actress. While I adored Kit Harrington in Game of Thrones, the one screencap that's been released with him as Vincent has me majorly going EEEEEEHHHH. He looks not a thing like Vincent, firstly. In fact, all I see in that screencap is Jon Snow. Secondly, the screencap depicts him strolling about Silent Hill with Heather. Bzuwhah? Now, I have no issue with the flip-flop of characters. I actually liked the fact that Dahlia was switched around in the first film, she's a lot more identifiable as a sad, wronged woman who lost her daughter. But like...if Vincent is going to be copped out as a cheap love interest for Heather (though I DO ship Heather/vincent) I actually have a huge problem with that. Think about it. Why do we all love Vincent? Because he's a right bastard, that's why. He's the ultimate chaotic neutral, he does nothing unless it's to benefit him directly. We lose so much if he joins forces with Heather. We lose "Heather, go ahead and kill this crazy bitch!" =[
Aside from that, I'm really impressed with the set, so far. It really does seem like no effort is being wasted on recreating the town and that makes me really very happy. Lakeside Amusement Park looks FANTASTIC! I love that big, scary clown face. It's delightfully spooky and I just know that it's going to look fantastic in 3D.
Arrrgh! I want my x-box to get here NAO! I want to plaaaaaay.
