Time to Update!

HELLO MY WONDERFUL FRIENDS! As i was sitting here i figured that i should update you all on my whereabouts for the past week. Well, it has been HELL in the mornings becuase i have to get up at 5AM...i get up, get dressed, eat, brush my teeth and go to placement. But the brightside is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my placement!!!! It is probably one of the most satisfying and rewarding things i have ever done in my life. The minute little Sydney(one of my girls in the daycare centre) walks in the door at 6:45AM...BAM ...i am awake and ready for the day. The rest of the little tykes come in shortly after.
We start the day with a little free time to let them wake up and get changed out of their jammies.

Breakfast is served at 8:00AM...today we had Cheerios, toast and kiwi. Let me tell you..its difficult to get all of them to sit down and eat...i spend most of that time saying, "(place childs name here) sit down please" then when they DONT sit down, i have to get up and sit them down...hence my achey back i have all the time.

More playtime. I love playtime...and i'm pretty sure the kids do too. I'm really excited because there is this one little boy, Daniel, and when i first arrived on Monday i couldnt even look at him without him crying, running away, or hiding his eyes. But today we were playing Legos and he made a train, so i made one too and where ever his train went, my train followed. He thought this was HILARIOUS....it was a major breakthrough

Outdoor play at 9:00 AM...not so much fun. This little girl, Sydney, is only 13 months old and she plays for about 10 mins and then cries for the rest of the hour. I now have to hold her hand and walk around with her as she cries (i cant pick her up cause my back hurts too much) its sometimes cute though...for example, today i sang "Do as I'm Doing" and marched like a solider and she stopped crying and actually followed me. it was the sweetest thing in the world. its little things like that that make me so thankful i am going to be working with children for the rest of my life. they are so innocent and wonderful.

More indoor playtime and then circle time. Its true when they say that children are like sponges. they really are! they love to read and sing--my favourite combo!

Lunchtime at 11:00. Again...slightly frustrating but cute. Today we had pasta and salad. it was good! even i had some!...just a little notice:Pasta is the MESSIEST thing in the world. Orange stained faces all around the room.

Naptime at 11:30. Today we played Norah Jones...i sang along. my new favourite naptime song is Sunrise by Norah Jones. i suggest you download it. its very pretty and soothing. During this time i sit between two beds and rub two backs at a time....another little notice: all little toddlers are MOUTHBREATERS....its hilarious. They sleep f-o-r-e-v-e-r...My day is finished at 2:00 and they are usually still sleeping.

I love my future career.
