When I first read it, I thought of the cheese one relates to flesh, the sagging, the wrinkly dimples and creases, basically the wasteland left behind when one loses a lot of weight, regains it, and loses it again. Now that you've consoled me, may we be LJ friends?

I see you have many fewer friends than friends-of devotees. Perhaps we should just be LJ friends in spirit.

What does that mean exactly? I'm curious about the entitlements.

I merely mean that you probably wouldn't want to friend me, but I'm grateful for your kindness toward me in thebookyoucrew, and I won't soon forget that you called me "a firecracker for things and figures that interest" me. The entitlement would be mutual respect?

Okay, since there are no discernible benefits, then are there any duties? Say I friended you. If I don't comment much in your journal, as I'm prone to do, will I be reproached? Will I be contrafriended?? What if I am compelled to comment and share obscenities that have only the slightest relevance to your posts? I usually decide whether I want to add or not based on journal content, and it seems that the enprise scandal, her turning out to be a creepy old man (Brian Sullivan), made it so that I can't see your stuff and pass the weightiest of E-JUDGMENTS. How can I tell if your journal is great enough to be associated with mine? What will I say when my BYC colleagues inquire about my friending a "failure ( ... )

I'll friend you first, but I'm warning you ahead of time my journal is quite different from SYC or BYC fare. In fact, I don't know what your special elite friends would make of it. :-)

I personally outed enprise. Somehow that got lost in teh drama.

I apologize. It's not often that I do what I'm about to do, but I never ignore a creepy feeling. I acknowledge that what you're doing with your journal is positive and therapeutic. I had similarly friended enprise when she approached me with her journal, which seemed to me greatly underpinned by her supposed disability. Of course, the enprise personality was intelligent, perceptive, curious, etc., so I didn't think twice about adding her back, because as much as she advocated feedback, I wasn't opposed to receving some myself. Her posts were frequent and a majority of them were obviously "tl;dr" (too long;didn't read), as are most of mine; I felt bad the few times we'd be AIMing and she would inquire about my opinion on a certain point; I felt obligated to speedily read what I'd missed and reading fast isn't even close to being a strength of mine. Once, she admitted to me that she thought the greatest American writer of all time was Truman Capote. I was simply flabbergasted ( ... )

There's a mental illness filter and a post inviting my friends to reply in screened comments if they want in or out. Would you like to be my friend apart from those posts?

Also, I wish I were a better writer than enprise, since I didn't much like her journal.

One more comment - I tend to reply before I think. I would greatly appreciate an AIM discussion with you on this matter, and it would also be my preference that you delete or screen the above comment and associated replies.
