I can't believe the last time I updated this was May 29th.
It is pitiful. It is pathetic. It makes me pathetic, no!?
Jeeze, I don't know where to begin. I have this gigantic grin on my stupid little face- because since May again my life has ever changed. I'm actually going to post entries from my JustAshBo.com domain as well...just for some other updates...
"Sup everyone? Long time no update. Things never end around here, seriously lol. Anyways, moving on!!!
WhateverLife.com is going to have a FEATURE article in the upcoming edition of the superb magazine Fast Company (fastcompany.com) for September’s issue (comes out mid-August)- My first BIG interview! So exciting, really!!!
A lot of business stuff has been going on. Site developments, financial stuff, upcoming things.
The conference in California is coming up. I’ll be gone from July 15-19th! Excited to meet a bunch of other CEO’s and what-not, serious! Should be cool(I do hope!)- Staying in the Clift hotel one night in San Fransisco. w00t!!!
I’ll be speaking on the 17th, earlier in the morning. Also, working with Doc Marla on an upcoming section of the website; so amazing. Robb is working on some individul advertiser’s (it’s so sweet, hm?!)
In personal life, my sister’s birthday party was yesterday. Cute. Moonbounce. Ahahah. I picked out my very first bedroom set. It is going to be soooo wonderful. I’ll take pictures of it once it’s here (with everything going on I’m waiting until I get back from California to get everything. Plus there are a lot of other business things that just keep comin’.)
So I have THAT to look forward to. Hopefully, the emancipation goes through quickly so by the end of summer I can be free from *jerks*. Not my mom : ); other issues. Investment meeting coming up; but at least I got my tax meeting over with, that’s a plus. Boring stuff, but necessities aye?
Well…I’m going on the trampoline, we just got it. Snazzy.
xoxo

"YPULSE MASHUP (www.Ypulse.com)
July 15th-19th San Francisco, California
WhateverLife.com-AshBo
Firstly, I want to say I’m glad to be home! I was so tired after that trip! It was one of the most amazing times though; absolutely loved it. Incase you may not know WHY we went off to California for a few days, let me inform you a bit!
Early this year I was invited to speak at the Ypulse Media Mashup in San Francisco by the amazing blogger/author and host of the event, Anastasia Goodstein (she rocks by the way!!!). I joined the ‘teen superstar panel’ along with Catherine Cook (creator of MyYearbook), Martina Butler (Emo Girl Talk), and Aseem Badshah (Scriptovia.com). Our moderator, the sweet Zadi Diaz (JetSetShow) was absolutely great as well.
We spoke about our businesses, the way we run them, and marketing in the teen age. It was great to meet SO many fantastic people! From Photobucket, to Adobe, to Girls for a Change! && So many more of course! I had a great time and I hope to be working with many of them to come!
It was also great to meet a few others who I have e-mailed/worked with virtually but never in person (Ceca from DayZLoop, Gigya, etc.)
Many fantastic organizations and businesses, all in which I’m very excited to work with. Hmmm, timeline?
July 15th; We arrived in California about 11AM their time. Found the ‘city’ area we were supposed to stay in by noon I believe, grabbed some lunch and checked in at the Clift Hotel (www.clifthotel.com)- Guess what? We were staying in room 1408. I’m not joking! We didn’t request it, it was completely random; HOW WEIRD! So we basically chilled the entire day, walked a bit and then SLEPT!
July 16th: Pre-conference started at 2:30PM; “Cracking the Code”; Got to hear from some great people- and a lot of hearing the same marketing ideas to teens. I wish I was a speaker that day! LOL. We had to create an ‘advertisement’ for an energy drink, and ours rocked. We were the first to present. Ooh yeah!
Anyways, that ended at 6:30- and guess who we saw?!?
Secondhand Serenade!!!
Yes, no joke! He was there playing for a small group (US); how amazing! Pictures below & in the slideshow, also on my Myspace Pics!
He was so great, loved it. Hoping to work with him soon (he seemed excited when I approached him lol!)
Walking around, dining out, shopping; sleep! We stayed in the Japanese SUITE at the Nikko Hotel! IT WAS FAB! The best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in.
July 17th: The main conference.
We were there at 7:30AM; & I spoke at 9:30-10:15 with my panel. Fun times.
Spoke with TONS of people afterwards, and through the rest of the day. It was so much fun to me; very enjoyable. Alex Welch (CEO of Photobucket), SecondLife, RockYou, etc. were there. It was cool to see the vast diversity in businesses arriving there. It was super neat to meet, greet and chat with them all as well.
A lot of the discussion was of teen marketing (how-to) and what teens and the youth market are into nowadays. I have you all to thank for my knowledge in that.
I enjoyed being educated on some new tools, as well as helping other adults with their situations. Like I said, hopefully this will help an array of opportunities to form! Looking forward to it all.
Anyways…we left July 18th in the evening; headed over to Vegas (where we had to FIND my mom in the airport
) and then off to Cleveland (but guess what, our flight was delayed for an hour…but they upgraded us to FIRST CLASS for free! AHHH SWEEEEEET!!!!)…I was too scared to fly in the baby plane home…we were picked up in a limo and driven home from Cleveland back up to MI. I know, I’m seriously a baby! I just don’t think I could have handled it…after all, all of my life I’ve been afraid of flying.
So now we’re back. I’m taking the weekend off to relax and chill out. Back to work Monday.
Oohh, ps;. So after we left we heard that the Houston airport was shut down due to the bad storms (we had a layover on the way there…there…good timing? Keep reading)- Then…Vegas Airport LOST it’s power for an hour after we LEFT the airport!…to top it all off; San Francisco had an EARTHQUAKE the day after! As my step dad said “Your timing is impeccable” Lmao! How true! Luckily, the earthquake didn’t hurt anyone (as far as I know)-Crazy Stuff….
So…Room 1408, Houston Airport shut down, Vegas lost power, San Francisco Airport. Creepy stuff following us!
Check out the pictures below/slideshows!

More?
"What an awesome thing to look forward to. New York City- My dream city. I get to visit, come late September! I’m so excited. Why? For the Tween Mash-Up! Following the Teen Mash-Up we just went to, Ypulse is now hosting the Tween Mash-Up later next month. Lovely. I absolutely LOVED the teen mash-up, and as the site grows, our audience is coming from a younger gen. Which is perfect for us then to see this conference. It should be overwhelmingly cool.
In other news, I was recently informed I’d be getting my advance copies of Fast Company tomorrow. I’m all excited/nervous/anxious- I hope it turned out well! I received an e-mail from a woman last night telling me she was impressed with the article and what-not…I was so flattered- Yet I haven’t even seen it yet! LOL. So that’s keeping me up as well…hey did I mention I’ve been up since six today? It’s 8:08 A.M. right now…I don’t have to be up early today- I just can’t really sleep. Plus, it doesn’t help that my allergies get kicks out of attacking me this early.
Yesterday I was so sick- Blech. I hope I get better through the day. Don’t know what was possibly wrong with me!
Jen and I are no longer going to Florida on the 22nd. I can’t say I’m displeased because the magazine article is coming out, I have a few meetings THIS week, and school starts on the 23rd so…
In other news, the Girls for a Change foundation is having a conference get-together October 30th. I hope I can go- possibly sponsor as well. That’d be over in California again…which I loved- let’s go! Hope so!
My school resumes on August 23rd. I’m super excited really. As much as I like dedicating 100% of my time to the business, me, and my friends- I am thrilled to have all FOUR art classes this semester. I registered two days late- making me a sure candidate for evening only classes LOL. It’s okay though, I’m a night owl. It’s only a drag because of the friends- they’re out and home by 3- And I’m starting classes at 6 and ending at 10:30. Nevertheless…I would rather have evening classes- Like I said…night owl
I have Adobe InDesign, Drawing I, History of Graphic Design, and Interactive Media. It’s dawned on me to get both my Web Design and Print Design certificates in Graphic Design. I cannot for the life of me choose one over the other…I want to do them both, so it helps in the end I suppose.
Oh, did I tell you WhateverLife was offered 2.5 million big ones? $$$. Yes. I just have so many projects in development- I don’t think it’s best for it right now. Of course, someday I may want someone else to grow it beyond my abilities- but as of now, I feel as though I have some good ideas in mind for it.
Today I’ll be speaking with Zest Books (Orange Avenue)- Hallie- she seems great- maybe collaborating something as far along as possibly doing a book cover contest! Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I hope so. She sent us over some books last week- and they are just PERFECT for the visitor’s of WhateverLife- No joke. EXACTLY the kind of books I’d love to work with.
A lot of other calls and communication lately. Just trying to cool it a little though- I’ve got that “I need a break” feeling-and I want ‘normalcy’ feeling- Hence school excitement.
Looking for office space too- Really wanting to expand and grow the team so we can be even more efficient- especially with our new projects
. OOOOH so exciting!
Anyways, YouTubing and listening to Hey Jude. I want some breakfast…and maybe some more sleep.
Until next time. XOXO
