Spencer had been drawn from sleep the next morning with a few less then brief kisses, and finally opened his eyes to Hotch leaning over him with a smile that stole his breath. He didn't have a chance to respond to the soft “Morning.” before Hotch stealing his mouth again in another kiss. It had the best way he'd ever been woken up, and even having to rush to get back to his room to get dressed and being hustled from the room and back onto the jet didn't diminish the warmth that had spread through his chest.

Penelope was waiting at his desk, and dragged him off with an excited squeal before he could object. They were safely ensconced in the corner booth of their cafe with coffee and cake, before she finally turned her sly smile on him. “So, tell your mama-bear what happened?”

“H-how do you know anything happened?” Spencer tried to sound innocent but wasn't sure if it worked.

Penelope just looked vaguely insulted, “Are you kidding? Do I really need to go into reasons why I know something had to have happened?” Spencer blinked at her but before he could respond she held up a hand, “No Spencer, I'm to impatient. Just tell me!”

Spencer looked down at where he was playing with his fork and tried to fight the blush that was rising in his cheeks, “I...um....don't think there's anything to tell.....” He swallowed at her low moue of disappointment, “Yet.”

She gave a low, “Yes~!” She turned back to him with a huge grin, “Tell me everything!”

Spencer sighed, “There isn't much to tell really...”

She growled a bit, “Well I'm assuming there hasn't been any hanky panky since you said yet, also it's barely been 24 hours and the boss-man is far too noble to jump straight into the sack. So lets start at the basics, have you kissed?” As Spencer's blush intensified she gave a small squeal, “You have! Okay, How was it then?”

Spencer blinked at her, “I....” He sighed, giving in. He couldn't hold out on her any way, and he did want to talk. “It was amazing. I mean I'm not that experienced anyway, but it was definitely amazing.” After he spent a surprisingly long time talking Spencer noticed the odd look on Penelope's face and paused, “Um...what?”

Penelope's smile grew softer, and he fought the urge to blink, and after a few moments she gave a small sigh, “I”m just so pleased this worked for you Spencer. Really. This is awesome for you. And no one could deserve having someone to love them more. Now come on, we both have paperwork to do. And I'd hate to ruin the honeymoon period by Hotch thinking you're shirking.”

The flash of pain he saw briefly in her eyes didn't sit well, and it almost made him not hear her mention love. But when it hit him he felt a stab of unease, Hotch hadn't ever said anything about love; he'd made the fact that he wanted Spencer more than indisputable but Spencer was well aware of the fact that being attracted to someone didn't automatically mean you were in love.

He attempted to shake off the thought as he slowly worked through the tall stack of paperwork waiting for him on his desk. It took him longer than he thought to get through it all, and he gave a small start when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and returned Hotch's smile, “Hey! I'm almost done with this...”

He trailed off as Hotch shook his head ruefully, “Come on Spencer, you need to eat.” Spencer fought the smile that threatened to break out as he half ran to catch up with the other man who'd turned to leave.

Spencer wasn't sure what he was expecting, but being hustled into Hotch's car and somehow ending up in the front seat as Hotch picked up Jack. When the boy was settled in the back and Hotch was behind the wheel Spencer gave him a wide eyed slightly paniced look and Hotch only smiled, “Hey Kiddo, you remember Spencer right?”

“Yeah.” Spencer eyed the young boy in the rear view mirror wearily but he seemed completely distracted by the two toy cars he was holding, and Spencer barely caught sight of the wry grin Hotch sent him and had to suppress the urge to stick his tongue out at the older man.

Watching Tv with Jack was an interesting phenomenon, pointing out the flaws of logic in Kim Possible was a force of habit and Spencer had forgotten he was talking to a 5 year old when he turned to meet Jack's assessing gaze and was half floored when the little boy finally shrugged and said “That's not why you watch it. Kim is fun! And Ron is silly. That other stuff doesn't matter.”

The quiet snort caused Spencer to turn and glare at Hotch who was approaching them with their food, but found he could stay mad when Jack finally said, “Why does Kim keep going after Drac'n when he never actually wins anyway?” The Spencer gave the shocked Hotch a smirk before turning back and explaining that even the most bumbling villains had to be apprehended, and besides Shego more than made up for Dracen's ineptitude.

Spencer relaxed after that, and found he enjoyed spending time with the two Hotchners, however odd they might be. And was almost a surprise when Hotch stood and gave Jack a stern look before pronouncing it to be “bedtime.”

He was patently unsure what to do with himself as he watched Hotch come back around 10 minutes later, and felt his hands twitch a bit. But Hotch only shook his head and drew him to his feet and gave him a serious look. “You have two choices here.” Spencer felt himself blink and gave a slow nod as Hotch said, “You can either stay, or you can go.”

Spencer shook his head frantically for a moment, “I'll stay.”

Hotch's smile faded a bit, “You have to be serious though.”

“Hotch, really I want to stay-” Spencer broke off as he felt himself pulled flush with Hotch's body.

“I told you to call me Aaron when we were like this.” Aaron's voice was just above a growl and Spencer nodded slowly with wide eyes. Aaron's voice was softer when he said “What?”

Spencer swallowed, “Y-yes.”

He could almost hear the impatience in Aaron's voice as he said, “Yes what?”

Spencer swallowed again, “Yes Aaron.”

Spencer heard Aaron give a low groan and nodded enthusiastically when the other man gave a low “We should take this to the bedroom.”

Spencer didn't bother to suppress the “God yes.” and eagerly began to follow the other man to his bedroom and promptly tripped over his own feet as soon as they crossed the threshold of Aaron's room.

Aaron's slightly strangled “Spencer!” barely registered in Spencer's mind as the other man caught him neatly, his partner's grin and “If you wanted me to hold you, you could have just said something.” And Spencer would have attempted to say something witty back but he liked the feel of Aaron's arms too much because they were strong and warm and Spencer adored the feeling of being held. He vaguely heard Aaron give a soft huff of laughter before pulling the door closed.

Later Spencer couldn't be sure who lost their shirt first, or who's hands tugged down who's pants, or how they actually got to the bed. The memory was a jumbled mass of sensations, the taste of Aaron's lips, the feel of Aaron's hands on his skin, his own hands running through Aaron's hair. What he would remember most was the awkward pause with Aaron hovering over him and admitting softly that he'd “never actually done this with a man.” The way he'd nudged against Aaron with a smile and reassured him it'd be okay, for the first time really realizing Aaron didn't know everything and that was it was ok because Aaron was human.

The look in Aaron's eyes was incredibly intense as Spencer explained exactly what he wanted Aaron to do, the feeling of Aaron actually probing him with his fingers and his warm breath on Spencer's neck as he clutched the older mans shoulders was intoxicating. The half pain half pleasure of Aaron actually sliding into him was soothed by the way Aaron looked at him and said a rough tone “You're mine now.”

Spencer had always wondered why others were so addicted to sex; his encounters had been few and far between and while they'd been pleasant enough Spencer hadn't ever gotten it. But as he watched Aaron lean over him while unhurriedly thrusting into him with all the other man's considerably intense focus on him, Spencer got it.

And even after Aaron gave a low groan and rolled off Spencer it was only moments before the other man was back and Spencer realized what he had planned with a whimper and welcomed the hand wrapping around him and the soft voice crooning into his ear. It didn't take long under those ministrations for Spencer to feel himself arch and give a soft inarticulate cry.

He wouldn't remember later how he whimpered when Aaron moved away, or how he gave a soft gasp as the lukewarm washcloth ran over his body, and the next morning when he came back to awareness he'd wonder about the soft flannel pajama bottoms he was wearing. But in that moment he was content to burrow as close to Aaron as possible, because in that moment he didn't need anything else.

One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life:
That word is love.
