What the hell is going on with the world? Three boys disappeared from their yard, and were just found in the trunk of a car on an abandoned lot next door at around 6:30 tonight.
Then there's the whole Hillsborough County Commissioner thing. Gay-Pride Library Controvery. In a nutshell, a display was put up featuring gay authors and/or books about homosexuals. The County Commissioner said that this is illegal because homosexuality should not be shown in a positive light.
So Ben and I were talking about it, and then Lynne's husband Gary showed up, and they (being Republicans/Christians - one in the same) chimed in. They don't believe it should be allowed. Democrats don't have morals. Sodomy is desecration on the body that was created by God. No where in their argument did they say anything about CONSTITUTIONAL GUARANTEES OF ALL HUMAN BEINGS. Oh that's right... Republicans don't care about anyone other than themselves. Discrimination is okay for Republicans, as long as the Bible says so. I mean, the Bible says homosexuality is wrong, therefore the government is allowed to discriminate and withhold basic human freedoms. Umm... yea right. What the fuck ever happened to the separation of church and state? You know, if you don't believe that gay people should get married in church, whatever. Think that way... but keep it the fuck out of the government, and especially politics (which is in fact, two different things). We were quite ralled up today at work about this. I should make a facebook group, "I work with Christian Republicans and I want to kill myself at the end of the day."
Ugh... other than that... I GOT A FREAKIN RAISE! Fuck yea. Ed called me into his office and told me that effective next pay period I will be going up 50 cents. Score. He also said that I am a really hard worker and he's been getting a lot of compliments about my work. Hmm... who said those compliments, I need some good law school recommendations. ;D
Tomorrow I am going to get my nails and hair done. Woo hoo. Other than that... not a whole lot.
