so i've decided that chitty chitty bang bang (dont make that a dirty title you perv kids) is one of my fave movies from my childhood. even though i was scared of the child kidnapper guy ( he still creeps me out) it was still an overall classic movie. just think of all the classic tunes. i mean they're not fabulous but they get stuck in your head extremly easily. it's also a kind of feel good movie. i mean how can you feel sad when watching chitty chitty bang bang. i mean lets think of the songs:

chitty chitty bang bang (of ocurse)
POSH
toot sweets

ok so those are the only ones i can think of. those are the most catchy for me. its like annie, a kind of lame but feel good movie with songs like:

tomorrow
that 1st song they sing in the movie but i can't remember
it's a hard knock life
that one they sing at the end (w/ warbux + annie)
never fully dressed without a smile

once again all i can remember, but still classic, catchy, feel-good songs. thinking back mostly all of the movies we watched when we were kids were just so happy. nothing really went wrong (okay so bambis mom died and so did mufasa and then there was the fox and the hound) but still everything always turned out okay. there were always songs to pick everyone up, and there were these huge town wide dance numbers. i mean in another one if my favorite childhood movies, Beauty and the Beast (not that i know all the words to the song and various quotes, and my prom dress wasn't picked out just b/c it looked like a belle like dress) Belle isn't the most popular girl and she isnt the most outgoing, doesnt really know where she fits, but eventually finds her way and finds the prince of her dreams all while wearing cute outfits and singing amazing songs.

if only life could work like a fairy tale. if only your true love was a rose or a kiss or a carpet ride or a glass slipper or just a day away...

i think a lot of us try to hang on to movies or stuff like this b/c everythinng is so easy there. i mean you get hurt and theres a fairy godmother waiting to help you deal with it. theres nothing that the characters cant handle. plus its like clinging to childhood when you had soo much less pressure and didnt have to make life altering decisions. i know eventually i'll have to move on and deal with the impending adulthood, but its like why do that when i can stay 5? while when you're an adult you get more freedom and expand everything it seems to only get more stressful and people become less self confident, like they cant be anything special, another face in the crowd.

but then there are movies that make you cry b/c they relate to life so much. the one in particular is sisterhood of the traveling pants. i cant really even explain why its so special. its like i can relate so much and i want my life to be like that, even though its just a movie. overall its a must have to see if you havent seen it yet, unless you're a guy then i prob wouldnt see it.

wow i love movies
