WoW: Made the switch back to Prot

Right, so... the people that I run with have slowly been leveling, and we're all finally nearing level 80. During that time I was Le Ret, beating stuff in the face with my two-handed mace.

When I was soloing.

In instances it was, "Oh noes, we need a tank," and since we only had two possible tanking classes, and I was the only one with tanking experience, I'd go tank as Ret.

Last week I bit the bullet and went back to Prot. 700+gp later, and I'm pretty much good to go. Between respec, spells, and updating gear (at level 78 I finally started replacing most of my T4-equivalent epics), I think I'm good to go. I'm at 528 defense, which shoots up to 540 on the dot if I use my SSO alch trinket (the one that gives defense), but then I lose about 1k HP.

I think that if I get the cloak from the Wyrmcrest Accord and replace a few of my +7 sta enchants (yeah, I was desperate, don't ask) with some +def enchants, I can PROBABLY hit 540 def and 20k hp unbuffed before I hit 80.

So if anyone on Anvilmar needs a slightly rusty level 79 paladin tank... look me up.

In the meantime, I'll bank my shiny Ret weapons and hope that one day of my friends decides to roll a tank so I can take a break and DPS >_>

(and no, Kat, this isn't aimed at you at all, lol)

prot spec, tanking, wow, paladin
