Big News!
So, if anyone remembers, a couple posts ago I ranted about the fact that it was going to snow and we would lose our adjudication. Then I "cried" because my ACTF dreams went down the drain. *insert sarcasm here* Remember?!?!
Well, our director appealed to the faculty and they held a meeting and nominated two people to compete for the Irene Ryan Scholarship. Well, turns out...I got nominated. It took a good five minutes of persuasion on Sue's part to convince me that I actually got picked. I was and still am in shock. It's sort of a big deal at our school and I feel really honored to be going. It feels great to be recognized for working your butt off. Screw winning, the nomination is enough for me. It always sounds cliched when people say that...but it's the truth.
We have a meeting tomorrow to discuss everything. I had less than 24 hours to pick a partner and when I boiled it down there was really only one person I felt comfortable going with. My big girl, Sue. I know she'll make me look good and we'll have a blast. The competition is in January and I believe I'll be missing the first week of school. Ha! Right now I'm in the process of picking out scenes. Ugh! There's a bunch of people going from Rowan, I think eight in all. Two plus partners from Cuckoo's Nest and two plus partners from Fable Factory.
My dear f-list, I apologise in advance, you're probably going to be hearing A LOT about this. I'll have more information after tomorrow.
