So, a couple of funny things happened today. The first was while I was subbing. Let me set the scene.
I'm standing at the door during the class change right before the last period of the day. I'm upstairs, (Mr. Bradley's room) it's hot, I'm sweating, 44 minutes til freedom.
So I'm standing there and this random kid walks on over...
Random kid: So, you have a boyfriend?
Me: *ignores*
Random kid: What's that a yes?
Me: *evil glare*
Random kid: Yo, what?
Me: I'm a teacher!
Random kid: So?
Me: O_o
Random kid: Yo, I'm 18 and you ain't my teacher, it's legal!
Me: *rolls eyes*
Bell: rings
Me *Thank you God!*
That was just weird! Ew! The other thing happened after school. I went home for a bit and then decided to run up to Hallmark to get my check. I had ditched my dress shoes and put on some flip flops. I didn't change out of my skirt or anything because, well it was hot and pants were out of the question. So I'm at Hallmark talking behind the counter to one of the girls working. She's wrapping for this sweet-looking old lady. The old woman is looking at our counter stuff.
Old Lady: Boy, this flip flop whatsit is really popular, huh?
Me and other girl: Oh, yeah...really big...Mmhmmm...
Old Lady: But you know what I don't understand? Why people wear those things! There's nothing I hate more than seeing a young lady dressed up nicely and wearing those, those flip flop things on their feet!
Me: *looks at my feet, then shuffles so she can't see them*
Me: *lying through my teeth* I know what you mean.
Maybe you had to be there but, wow!
Also, the other day I finished reading Diary by Chuck Palahniuk. Not his best stuff, but not that bad once I got into it. I picked up his new book Haunted the other day at B&N. I also picked up Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell and Sam's answer to her book question, Summer Sisters. I've heard amazing things about Cloud Atlas and I can't wait to read it. As for Sam's book, I'm not too far into it, only about 50 pages but so far it's really good. :)
I have about 150 pages of PoA left to read. What are we doing on Sunday guys?
