So Valentine's Day was...kind of a flop. Me and Sean had our night class, so we were stuck chowing down at the cellar in under half an hour, how romantic. I made him cinnamon rolls for breakfast and got all pretty and bought him a card and a toblerone during lunch, which I gave to him at dinner. He opened my card and says "This is a lot of reading." Strike one. After class I give him his gifts including a hat that I crocheted for him. He gave me my gift including a card, two little pokemon, and a lacy baby doll top. Strike two: the gift was more for him than me, if you know what I mean. So we are looking through the catalog he ordered it from and we come across a red halter top dress and he says "Oh man, if only your breasts were big enough to fill that out." Strike three. Needless to say I was pretty upset at how Valentine's Day turned out. He promised that he had been planning a lot for our weekend in Chicago and that's why V-day was less than stellar. Well...
Chicago was amazing. It was the most wonderful weekend I've ever had. We spent all day Friday downtown shopping, and we went to Navy Pier and rode the giant ferris wheel and we got lunch and ice cream, it was great. His grandma took us out to dinner and then we watched Roman Holiday, which is a wonderful classic moive. On Saturday we hit up some used CD stores and a really nice comic book store, Lore and Kyle would have loved it. We went to our hotel room and got ready for dinner and the concert. We ate dinner at the swanky steakhouse restaurant in the hotel, it was expensive, but it was the best food I've ever had in my life. The Final Fantasy Concert was amazing, so many nerdy people. The best part was the Japanese composer getting all excited about us cheering and enjoying the concert, he was adorable. Back at the hotel Sean had a bottle of champagne, some chocolate, and rose petals. He definatly made up for Valentine's Day.
