*phew* It's all over...Man, that was kinda exhausting. But heaps of fun and an experience I'll never forget. :)
For me going to the con was not only about getting to see some of the actors but an opportunity to put some faces to names and meet some other fans in real life. It was great to finally meet
starrylizard and
my_sn_therapy, even though it felt like we really didn't have enough time. I felt like a complete newbie so Lizzie was wonderful in letting me know how these things go and to have someone to hang around with. *hugs* gals.
I had a wonderful evening with
ruby_jelly and EnsignRo. Great to do some face to face chatting about the show and be all fan girly together! *smishes* them.
So. The con.
It was actually really calm and had a nice relaxed atmosphere about it. I'm not sure why, but I expected it to more hectic or something. But it had a nice atmosphere and I began to feel comfortable pretty quickly. (Meaning, I chickened out on having a photo 'cause I thought that would feel weird, but really I needn't have worried because it was all so relaxed and easy).
Samantha Ferris was first to talk and she was quite awesome. Total love for that lady! She was sincere and gutsy and funny. I even got past my nerves and asked a question.\o/ I just love that she looked at me the whole time when answering and was thoughtful in her answer (I asked about the final scene between Ellen and Jo). I particularly liked her describing herself as an "ugly" crier. She talked about some people needing to cry pretty, but for her it was more about the honesty. And she kept pulling her "crying" face. I got an autograph afterwards and had a really nice chat with her. I felt like I could talk all day to her. And she's gorgeous to boot!
Julie and Rob were next and I was a little worried about how they might go. But they were absolutely delightful. Funny and warm. Rob was hilarious and Julie delightful. She talked about her Impala scene with Jensen and talked about how technical it all was. The way she did the whole things was funny and so sweet. :)
And then there was Misha. Oh man. Hee! He was a bundle of energy and so, so funny. He had a joke for everything. At times I would like to have seen him drop the "act" a little bit to try and see what's underneath. But I figure he does that to protect himself, or he genuinely has a joke for everything. But he's absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous! And seemed very friendly. He put his Sydney phone number on the t-shirt they were auctioning off. And the guy he was travelling withs number as well) (Who was he I wonder??... very, very cute!). Now that would have been a number to have. He said he would answer it once. :)
Last was Jim. My initial thought was how different he was to Bobby. Younger and fitter and even though that is like *duh*, it surprised me for some reason. I think also because the others were more like their characters. Jim was endearing and quite serious about his answers. He seemed like a lovely man and had some interesting things to say.
I ended up buying a CD of Rob's band, which he autographed. I had a nice chat with him also, which was really nice.
So. All in all great day and a memorable experience. I loved how easy it all was and how accessible the stars were. Sam joining the throng of fans to go and find lunch at one point. Misha just hanging around the foyer chatting to who was ever around.
