13.02 a few things...

Another rather enjoyable episode. (Tho my heart sank when I saw who wrote the episode (yep, the infamous Duo), but it held together fairly well. :)

I was rather distracted by Sam's hair... )

I was pleasantly surprised considering it was a Buckleming. I didn't even mind the Lucifer bits much. I felt Mark P was managing to inject just a little of the old Lucifer into his scenes, though no matter how good his performance, he's never going to be able to regain the power that show has leached out of him simply through over use.

Don't think we'll get alt-Sam & Dean, unfortunately. It was said at the end of last season that this was a universe in which Sam and Dean were never born and, therefore, never prevented the apocalypse (but, wait, weren't they the ones who started it, so wouldn't that just mean . . . oh, well, best not to think too much :P)

That's pretty much it for me I think. I've always liked Mark's interpretation of Lucifer - I think it's more just a bit of boredom with the character rather than what he's doing.

And yes. Damn, I forgot they mentioned that Sam and Dean didn't exist in this universe (though good point about what started the apocalypse). Maybe they exist but not as hunters? (that would be cool yo see them as average Joes...)

Hell surely needs a proper revival to deserve its name again..

Yes! Hell is more like a corporate nightmare rather than a dark, menacing hell-sphere. Without Crowley they could have gone in that direction maybe.

And thanks for the head's up about Superstition. I'll see if I can find it. I'm surprised the SPN fandom aren't talking about it - especially if Sam and Dean were mentioned. :)

Ah now, that shows how reasonably decent that episode was that I'm surprised it was written by the Terrible Two. I enjoyed it a lot, even Lucifer actually. I kind of like that he's almost normal but then casually obliterates a bunch of angels with a finger click and you remember he's dangerous as fuck. I also liked Michael and the potential of both the Alt Verse and Jack. That actor is really good so far - he manages to mix vulnerability, humour and power.

Agreed that the actor playing Jack is getting that lovely mix just right.

And for a Duo ep it wasn't half bad (yay!). I think maybe I'm just kinda bored with Lucifer (but then I have been for much of the last few seasons. Now he's lots his connection to Sam (almost completely) he's not nearly as dangerous or as intriguing to me). The Michael 'n Lucifer storyline might be interesting down the track though.

Yeah I'm not exactly ecstatic to have Lucifer in the mix at all, but having him in the other verse is mildly interesting, especially as angels over there seem to be a bit more smitey than the boring bureaucrats we've been left with since the likes of Anna, Uriel and Zach were obliterated.

*nods* Seeing Charlie and Eileen and Ellen (and Jo *g*) again would be great.

I had forgotten that they had said Sam and Dean weren't in this universe. Shame...

he is adamantly rejecting any thought of trying to get Mary back.

This is weird to me also. I figured it was because he doesn't want to face the fact that she could be dead, but after being so angry at Sam for not looking for him in S8 you'd think he'd be thinking of it differently (though I'm convinced the writers don't take these things into account if it doesn't match the story they want to tell).

But I still have a grudge against the way death in Supernatural has become so temporary as to remove any real sense of sacrifice and loss, so I have conflicted feelings about the whole shebang.)

Definitely!
