"a cross roads on an underpass?! Yeah, that was cool. " I concur! Think I even said so, aloud, here, alone, sheee! I liked the link to current banking crisis!

Funnily enough, Dean finding it hard to tell Bobby felt real to me. It was more than his loss to experience, and having to say it aloud made it real. Also showed his acceptance of involvement of others in the war, not just "family business" (don't remember which ep he said that, years ago!) I liked seeing Dean pull back into himself and resume being the soldier.

I really, REALLY, liked Ellen and even the re-modelled Jo, especially when she handed it to Dean. Damn show, I'd like some recurring women roles without the silliness of forced romantic interests! Hated them playing Dean as a moron, with his stuttered come-back. He may not be smooth, but he is intelligent, street smart, combat savy - oops, fangirl showing!!! lol!

Yeah - and really these 2 characters had the potential to do this. Jo and Dean have always been skirting around a relationship and with Jo's comeback I thought we might be in for some fun with them in the future - in that Jo could be there as more than just a romantic interest to Dean. They finally gave these 2 characters some"meat" and then they got rid on them. I just don't understand why they have to die, they could just "go away" like they did for 2 seasons. That way, they could always bring them back if they needed or wanted to.

I wonder if killing every body they love or get close to is part of the overall arc, and maybe plays a role in the future. Probably nit.

And Amen to Dean being, once again, shown up to be a "moron". Why do they keep doing that to him? I figure for laughs... but really? Dean is smoother than that I agree.

Hee! I think my fangirl was showing too! \o/ :D

Yeah, I gotta agree with the Dean thing, although, I don't think I would have noticed so much if they hadn't had Sam barely reacting at all. Both boy's reactions seemed off to me last night...

Yeah. What was that all about? Sam seemed very distant from Dean in this one... Sometimes I felt they weren't on the set at the same time or something I wonder if they were giving each of them a rest. That seems weird but it crossed my mind a couple of times. Especially when Dean was laying on the ground and Sam knelt down to him. It was unusual not to get a shot of Dean at that point. I reckon he wasn't even there....

Yeah - it was Ellen and Jo's show last night I felt. Maybe even Lu's and Crowley's. They were the stand out performances for me. But our boys will have had a much needed break for the next eps, so hopefully we'll see the result of that.

Huh, interesting. I'll have to go and re-watch that scene now...

And yeah, I still have high hopes for the rest of the season. If I just think positively, I know they'll give me boy hugging before the season is over, right?

I think this show just slipped past me when I had too much going on in my life. And with things still going strongly I may never get to watch it.

Only so much time in the world...

Hee! Unfortunately (well fortunately probably) I am well and truly hooked. I adore the show even when I grumble about it. I mean there is no doubt it is flawed, but I am totally into these characters (that is until they kill them off!!) and I just adore watching the boys...

I wouldn't have discovered the joy of vidding without this show...:)

Seeing your journal title, I couldn't help myself. I needed to read. Last night's episode was.... wow. I don't think it has all sunk in yet. Only that feeling of dread, yah know? Like it could really be the end. It seems like they only brought Jo and Ellen back to kill them; though I don't mean that in a nasty way. I know there were tons of comments floating about as to what happened to Jo and Ellen after season 2. After all, they had seemingly dropped off the face of the earth.

Castiel is becoming a bit...of a badass lol. Can't wait to see where his character arch goes. Could be mighty interesting.

I am worried for Bobby though... I must admit. -crosses fingers- Here's to hoping.

Hi there. I'm glad you popped in to read. :) I don't often write ep reactions, but I had a few things to get off my chest last night and it seemed like a good place to off load. :)

I am feeling a particular sense of dread actually. I keep thinking there is no way this can end badly, but I just don't trust that it won't. We were given the best indication yet that there will be a "show down" in months - Lu saying Sam will be in Detroit in 6 months... *eep* It could get bad.

Yeah me too. At times I feel like they don't quite know what to do with him. I think his popularity has taken the makers by surprise and they have had to give him more of a story. I look forward to seeing where that goes.

Oh and if they kill off Bobby, I think Kripke may have a fan riot on his hands....

Thanks for popping in! :)

I thought Dean's general tone throughout the hardware store scene was spot on, when I take into account that he was completely and utterly activated and in PTSD mode (well, tee-vee hero version thereof) by the hellhounds. Jensen's acting choices made perfect sense to me. The way he was triggered by the hellhounds was extremely well done and a big part of what made all that followed so emotional for me.

I was soooo relieved at the firm fourth-wall closure. It was a strong ep, and I'm struggling with its genderfail aspects. I can't say that killing Jo and Ellen, per se, is misogynistic, but it was sure of a piece with the long arc of female sacrifice in the show, and I no longer know what to make of it.

As a standalone scene, however, it was very moving and yes, tear-jerking and emotionally manipulative, and I loved it.

Ah yes. This is a good point. I have to say I didn't make that connection - maybe seeing the hell hounds again really threw him and then to see Jo ripped apart like he had been... I have to say then, I wish Sam had had the same reaction - as in being as terrified. After all he's also witnessed what they can do. I would love to have seen him blast into them the way Jo did...

but it was sure of a piece with the long arc of female sacrifice in the show, and I no longer know what to make of it.Yeah - it's getting more and more obvious. It's such a shame really because they could have really turned the tide on all that by keeping these 2, strong, female characters. It seemed to me like they were heading that way...giving them more "meat" as it were, but then they just had to go and destroy that. *head scratch* I wonder if we'll ever find out why they feel such a need to keep killing off major ( ... )
