Nice! I hadn't realised until I saw this that the angelic comet trails were closer to earth on the 2nd poster... Someone said the carnation is a symbol of love so it's odd to have Crowley holding it at all.

I just had a quick look and found this: In Portugal, bright red carnations represent the 1974 coup d'etat started by the military to end the fascist regime ongoing since 1926.
Light red carnations represent admiration, while dark red denote deep love and affection.
And in France carnations symbolize misfortune and bad luck.

I actually like the Portuguese one for Crowley and Abaddon!

Not really, especially since we know that the human part of Crowley only "wants to be loved." Having that symbol of love (if that's what it is) burst into flames, now, that is interesting. ;)

Oooh, interesting. I did a search on carnations a while back and didn't find anything nearly this interesting. The fascist regime is very cool. And of course the love part would be the deep need for love we know Crowley feels.

Ooooooo, AWESOMNITY!!!!

I've been looking at the promo pics in separate tabs and thought about posting them side to side to have them somewhere to compare them, but THIS IS INFINITELY BETTER. It's such a cool idea to have the promo poster change with what we learn and still tease us about what will happen.

And it seems like the angels aren't going to be the biggest threat after all? 9x02 and Abaddon and Dean's "gotta remember who the real monsters are" would sort of suggest that...

My heart is full of squee now! \o/ \o/

Yeah, I was thinking about doing the same and then thought I could use my vid program and my gif program and create a cross dissolve of the two. I didn't pick up the flame or the angels falling closer to the earth before I did this. :)

I think the demons are going to play a big part in this season too (though if they insist on punching instead of using their powers to fight Sam and Dean then they're not going to fair very well!)

Great work, bb! I hadn't noticed the angel trails, either. Curious. Now I really hope there's another poster (or three) in the series, because what happens when the trails hit the ground? And does Dean do any transforming of his own? Or Castiel?

Creation-wise, was "tweening" involved in this gif-ery? I think I see it when Sam's head turns. ;)

Oh wouldn't that be great! The poster changing as the season progresses. I'd love to see Cas change cloths and Dean...oh Dean...I can't even imagine what's in store for him this season.

OOh, what's tweening? I created a little vid with a cross dissolve in it and imported it into PS to make the gif. I am SURE there are better ways to do this but it's the only way I could work it out....;D

It's going to be an interesting season, that's for sure.

what's tweening?

From what I've seen, maybe "tweening" might be the one-button version of a cross dissolve. I found it by accident, by just clicking stuff to see what it did. ;) Adobe's explanation does kinda sound like a cross-dissolve, though.
