I wonder if Dean not trying to get Cas out of Purgatory is somehow tied into Sam not looking for Dean.

I seriously hope Dean not looking is going to be considered. I don't think it's fair that Dean calls Sam on not looking when he didn't. (or rather..it is fair because that's going to be a major point later on).

That's a beautiful vid and yep, maybe it does explain why Sam didn't look, why he just ran and the vid makes me feel so much sympathy for Sam, what he's gone through. I don't think it will ever sit comfortably with me, I think I'll have to readjust some of my personal head canon about who I thought Sam was, I'm having to do that anyway this season

Unless I find out Sam was putting down salt lines, has a devil's trap under the new rug, threw holy water in dad's face and she has an anti-possesion tattoo? I KNOW! See ... this! This is why this is all so WEIRD! At least when Dean was with Lisa he acknowledged that monsters were out there. So far we haven't seen that from Sam. But then again we really haven't seen ANYTHING about this time with Amelia. It's as though NOTHING about Sam's past life has been brought into this. Now, I don't know whether to be excited by that (because that could feed into all his flashbacks being unreal) or worried because it looks like they haven't considered this. (seriously

Given that Dean went into Lisa and Ben's minds without their knowledge or consent and erased their experiences, leaving them vulnerable to the supernatural with no indication that any measures were being taken to protect them (and I don't even think that that practical danger is remotely the worst thing about that whole thing), and THIS ACTION HAS NEVER BEEN MENTIONED OR CONFRONTED SINCE THE EP WHERE IT HAPPENED, not to mention Cas leaving Amelia and Clair Novak and poor plot device Daphne in his wake, I think the chances of the show ever really addressing the consequences for the women and children who have the misfortune to tangle with its protagonists' lives are pretty small.

OTOH, maybe they are planning to end the series with Lisa and Ben and Clair and Daphne and both Amelias getting together and pooling their knowledge and getting mad as hell and taking out Dean, Sam, and Cas in an epic bloodbath.

Poor Daphne was the worse thing ever. IT MADE NO SENSE AT ALL. More than that...it was unnecessary. All that could have happened without the introduction of Cas being married. Please. And wiping Ben and Lisa's minds...man.../o\

Beautiful video. The more I think about it, the more I wonder about Sam. Interesting parallel you have drawn. I believe Amelia is real, but I do have to wonder after all Sam has been through if his thoughts, perceptions, memories, etc are real. And while I don't want to spoil anyone, after accidentally seeing the sneak peek of 8 x 09 (I thought is was the promo) I really have to wonder [vague spoiler info behind a cut to be safe;nothing too specific]if they might actually deal with some of Sam's PTSD/mental health issues given a previous character who was mentioned in the sneak peek and is scheduled to guest in the episode.

I took a sneak peek also - but only pic so I know who's in it. I am both nervous and excited for the ep because it looks like a good story arc episode.

I definitely have a feeling that Sam's mind is still an issue this season (which...yay!)

Me, too! At least I hope the writer's deal with it. It would explain so much. I have thought about it in terms of why he didn't look for Dean and why he didn't answer his phones. [No spoilers just wild speculation about Sam on my part]Maybe he couldn't because he was somehwere in a psychiatric facility getting help and they don't let you have phones in those places. And just because you know people, doesn't mean your memories/perceptions of those memories of them are correct ( hello Dean and Cas). I mean, maybe Amelia needed help too, because of what she went through with her husband? And that is why Sam's memories are altered? He constructed this "dream world" for the two of them. Maybe her dad's visit "to the facility" was real, but not like we saw? ( cue Sam rubbing his devil-be-gone hand) And it could be a theme...I mean Cas said he is suicidal...that is why he didn't want to go back to Heaven because he would kill himself because of all the damage he did... And I am done babbling.

Oooh....the Sam in a mental facility I've heard in other speculations but I haven't heard of Amelia being in there with Sam... that's very cool.

I think I would squee rather loudly if this was the case.

Hmmm...Amelia was in a blue gown (like Sam and Dean were when they were in that mental institution in Sam Interrupted) when Sam first met her...

Oh - still haven't watch it? Arghhh...ummm...I didn't mind it I have to say. Not great, but ok. The flashbacks were really hard to watch but so much more meatier than the past ones. I think it begins to show what had really happened to Sam.
