Yeah. I too probably needed to be prepared. I mean, I did go along for the ride. Some bits were hilarious - so had me squirming.
Personally, I would really have liked Misha's death to have a real ring of truth about it. I'd love to have seen him play real fear. It really would have made this whole episode more worthwhile for me. But that whole killing spree what just some slap stick that really had me squirming. Sure - it was funny to see Kripke buy it. But I'd love there to have been some truth in there.
*shrugs* No biggie. I'm not nearly as pissed about it as I was before. That's why I love hearing other peoples thoughts.
Yeah. Good point. By making it over the top we didn't see the real death coming... which makes it more shocking.
But then to have a melodramatic Gen and Kripke being gleeful over the coverage...*shrugs* ACK! See... I keep missing the humour in this ep. Obviously that's the whole point. By faking it it shows us how unreal everything is..

That said...I don't know if my new way of thinking about it is right... it just helps with me accepting it more.
In my mind they film cast and crew were all kind of douches. I din't like them I couldn't figure out why they would show themselves like that. But of course, it's not the real real crew, just ONE alternate universe. A universe where God doesn't even exist. (assuming we take as read that in our world he does..to a lot of people...). So this was kind of fake and soulless SPN film crew universe. One where these boys didn't want to be.
God. Does that even make sense?? No wonder Gen wasn't very warm and Jared house was like some sort of monument to his wealth. In this universe Jared and Jensen don't talk to each other. So we know it's not OUR universe.
I'm thinking that given that they were killing 'real' people to play it straight would have taken all the fun out for them, and been to close to home to actually funny, so I'm all down with them doing it more slap sticky. And Mischa getting slashed still kinda shocked me.
