You don't know that. Things could get better. But being sad and unhappy about it won't help. That'll just make you feel horrible. [He would be giving all the hugs if she was nearby] I know that if everyone does their best, then nothing bad can happen.

I was happy when I was dead. All of my friends were with me and everything felt like it would be okay. You wouldn't understand.

People from where I came from had to save the world, too. They all fought hard, but that didn't help them when it came down to it!

At least they could fight. They had tons of bravery and weren't scared at all... unlike me. I couldn't do anything.

I bet there's a lot you can do. Things can be really scary, I know. Trust me, I know. [Nothing like being afraid of the only other person you regularly have contact with] But if you try and do what's right anyway, it feels really good! To be able to be brave, even though it's scary...it's really hard, but it's worth it.

[dogtier]

But I don't know how to be brave... I think I did once, but that was a long time ago. All I know how to do now is be a weight that brings everybody down.

I used to be brave once too, but now a lot of things scare me...maybe we can both learn how to be brave again, ne? Two people working together would be better than one, after all.

Maybe... but I thought bravery was something you were born with. Do you really think we could learn?

I think some people are born with it...but I think it'd be possible to learn too. After all, you can do anything if you really try. So I think we could!
