[She grins and cuts the feed, then sets about making ready for him. The food's still fresh and warm, and there are clean plates left, so there's not too much to do - just get a glass down, since she assumes he'll want juice or milk, and set his place.]

[Operating on the logic that all the Welcome Hall's are roughly the same, Conan has no problems finding the dining room.]

Wow -- you did all this yourself?

Most breakfast food is pretty easy. I couldn't have made a dinner this big, everything's more complicated and takes way longer.

[She brings him his plate, leaving him to serve himself, but grabs his glass to fill.] Do you want milk or juice?

Even so! This really is a Christmas party.

[Conan looks curiously at the other breakfast guests, but Nakama's question restores his attention to her.] Ah, juice please!

[A slightly broader grin.] I'm glad. There should be some kind of celebration.

[And then she's running off to get some orange juice, setting the glass down beside him.] Let me know if anything's getting cold or if it's over or undercooked, okay? I've never made this much food at once, so I don't know how it'll be...

Mm! And this is a nice way to relax here ...

[The sceptic in Conan couldn't help but wonder why Christmas mattered so much to Nakama. Usually it was considered a holiday for couples in Japan, while New Years was the big event. 13 ... well, she could be into boys, but this isn't how you'd go about finding one ... Conan couldn't help but remember Nakama's tone as she'd mentioned her mother's absence. Although a Western christmas was foreign, maybe it was the emphasis on family and friends that attracted her to it? In which case ... ha, she's going to have one happy seven year old.

Scrambling up onto his chair, Conan found that he didn't have to pretend to be excited.]

[The detective has missed the most important point of the holiday for Nakama - the giving. Nakama likes to give, and a season devoted to it means that she doesn't draw any lines about family or boyfriends or anything. She just wants to give to whoever's available.

Also, it gives her an excuse to foster companionship between the houses, which is one of her ultimate aims - everyone working together, all friends, to solve the problem of Asgard. She didn't succeed with fourteen other people, so why she's willing to take on an entire city is questionable, but that doesn't mean she's giving up.]

Take one of everything, if you want. I can always make more.
