[He's using voice for this post, despite it being annoying, because geez people. All this concern and being nice and stuff. It's distracting, And he has something to suggest that deserves the attention much more.]It seems several here are beginning to develop the new abilities we have been granted while here. However, in order to practice some, ( Read more... )

Are you sure that it's safe? [Because she's been wondering about it, herself.] Has anyone had any problems with those kinds of powers hurting someone?

I'm not certain. There is like an element of risk involved, but the benefit of developing something such as a healing ability would outweigh the risk.

You're probably right.

[She's still hesitant, though.] But how do you intend for it to be practiced? [What she doesn't say is, 'you're not going to hurt people on purpose, are you?']

Those willing to be involved would presumably cause themselves a minor injury, to allow the healer to attempt to repair it. This would ideally be done in pairs of those with similar abilities, so that they can switch who is taking which action and both have opportunity to practice.

That does make sense but

even if it's for a good reason I'm not comfortable with people hurting themselves. [She pauses, mulling it over until a thought occurs to her.] There are probably people who train other powers or skills with each other. Do you think maybe the people who need subjects could heal them instead when they get injured rather than having to cause injuries in the first place? [Not as efficient, but certainly less unsettling.]

That is of course possible, and should be done as well. The issue is that those times would be intermittent, and should a healer need use of their power in an emergency, they will have had very little training.

You're right. I guess I just wish there was a better way.

If there were, I would suggest doing so that way, but there doesn't seem to be.

Of course.

I'll give it some thought.

Alright. Which house are you a part of?

Sigyn's. I'm told I can heal now. [And apparently she hasn't gotten much practice yet.]

That is a useful ability to have, and one well worth the practice to master.

I hope so. I'd like to be able to help people with my powers. [Instead of hurt them, that is.]

Do you have any abilities in your world?

[--....]

[It's a tough question to answer. By now, she's realized that it's probably for the best to keep her... unusual abilities under wraps. The fewer people who know, the less likely it is that there'll be someone who might cause trouble because of them. They might be suppressed for the moment, but who knows how long that will last? She has no intention of lying, but,]

It's complicated.

[Which is one way of saying 'I'd rather not talk about it'. Eager to move on, she adds,]

I've never been able to heal before. In my world there was magic and one kind of it could be used to heal wounds but I never learned it.

[He's doing exactly the same thing, so he allows the deflection.]

Magic is known in your world?
