I have been granted nothing here. If you feel you have, I take no issue with that. Yet those who do not wish to be here have every right to object to their captivity.

Perhaps you should consider that what the gods may be looking for are people who display independent thought and strength of will.
[Not that he himself cares what they want. Yuri's unimpressed, and he doesn't want to be immortal. Especially not like this, without his power; what would be the good of living forever if he couldn't do his most necessary work?]

[ and good one! but this is Odin he's hoping to impress and he doesn't think that will be valued over conquest and victory in battle. if he doesn't have anyone to compete against, it will seriously not get him anywhere and everyone here seems highly invested in leaving rather than gaining. ]
It's not like it much matters if no one else is interested-- it only makes my admission to Valhalla easier. But I'm not much for winning no-contests.
