[Under the cover of his hood, Archer regarded the device recording him. He wasn't entirely sure of the scope of the camera's view and ability to pan, though--so, he didn't notice that in the immediate background, a number of sapling trees could be seen readily. Sweat ran down his cheeks and to his neck visibly, liking from using his 'Growth' ( Read more... )

[Oh, now there's a voice Saber actually recognizes! As she lounges on the couch she had claimed for herself, she regards the other Servant with an amused smile.]

Oh, never did I think I would see you in such an undignified state, Faceless King.

[In an instant, Archer's previously good mood plummets.]

[A Servant that he doesn't know, clearly--who knows him more than one would expect.]

Great. This is the last thing I wanted.

[She's completely unaware that he does not recognize her, and continues to address them as if they had known each other for a while.]

Why the displeased look upon your face, Archer? Surely even though you've fallen to my sword, I'd expect you to at least have enough dignity to not be a sore loser.

[It confirmed a few suspicions of his, at least. He didn't like the look of his master and his first few commands. Overall, Archer was convinced that he was running his way towards an inevitable loss with someone that suggested he fight 'fairly'.]

Brag all you want, lady. If you really do know 'me', then you should expect this kind of shut-down. [He disconnected his end of the feed, knowing better than to fall to taunts when at a complete disadvantage of knowledge.]

[WHAT.

AW HELL NAW. She just wanted to be friends and that was totally rude. Of course, Saber would not leave it at that. Ring ring, bitch. Ring ring.]

Dare not to interrupt me when I haven't yet finished! We are hardly Servants in this realm, and we had been cast in the same situation! Wh-What I am trying to say is that I... do not wish for us to be enemies. [Ugh, this is kind of embarrassing.]

[For good measure, Archer takes his time in answering, fixing as neutral an expression as he can muster given how goddamn tired he is. Running in Sherwood day and night didn't kill his lungs quite that badly.]

This is a really weird situation to be in. I don't know what kind of Heroic Spirit you are, but isn't this undignified?

U-Umu, I do realize this may sound strange, coming from the fact that the Holy Grail War is unforgiving through such interactions... but as I said before, we are not Servants in this realm. We are people, which is why I wish for us to put our differences aside and cooperate with one another to lead this land into prosperity.

[Argh, this is so frustrating. Still, diplomacy was one of Saber's valued policies whenever it was possible, so she had to endure.]

Speaking of which, you have the countenance of a donkey in the rain right now... which confuses me. You had once preached about "having fun" being important and seemed rather easygoing, so I cannot help but be surprised at how sour you are being.

[The thought would have been endearing to hear had he heard Blackmore's last words, but Archer was still fixated on the easily corrupted brother to the King. Trusting words like that was something he couldn't exactly do.

Still, he felt stupid. He wouldn't speak like that if it could be helped. Not that he was planning on speaking to any Servants face to face in that war, given his modus operandi. 'Warmth', though, was something he couldn't feel when he was in a corner.]

Was I supposed to give you a warm reception after you bragged about killing me and stating the name of my Riddle?

Besides--having 'fun' and being 'easy going' are two mutually exclusive ways of handling things, especially after hearing something like that.

[Saber finds his behavior strange. He seemed to face defeat with dignity... In her mindset, her taunting was much akin to friendly banter. And to be honest, she rather did get the impression that he was easygoing, so his sourness is surprising.

However, she thinks back to her observations of how time and worlds worked in this realm. Her expression and tone become more serious.]

... Archer, what is the last thing you remember before arriving here? I believe that time discrepancies could be behind this miscommunication.

[Sure, Saber had an ego the size of the moon, but she's also compassionate and fair enough to make one attempt at talking through this.]

[If there was any thing to worry about, it was this woman's capacity to change her attitude on a dime. If he was supposed to believe that she actually killed it, it had to be this level of capability. The problem was--he liked being in charge of the taunting. Getting flustered was easy for the chatterbox.]

Well--why don't you humor me and tell me why you need to know, miss? I don't give information for free.

I'm a pretty dishonorable guy, so this shouldn't come as a surprise, y'know?
