A Word on Dreams
In our house, there's a poster. It says "Dreams are like rainbows: only idiots chase them."
I suppose that's true. I had dreams once. I gave them up because I was afraid of failure. Well, that and I'm dirt effing poor.
U of I was not my first choice school. Hell, it wasn't even on the list of schools I wanted to go to. I had big dreams, dammit. I was going to go to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London or something. Definitely wanted to go international. Instead I'm at a slightly backwater university that no one's heard of.
Don't get me wrong, I like UI. I just... had hoped for better.
I'd like to attempt a transfer. Where, I dunno, but right now the small town sameness is suffocating.
