A/N: This is my rebooted retelling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story, "The Adventure of the Empty House."
If you are able to suspend disbelief and accept that Sherlock shot the bomb in the pool and Moriarty got away, and that after that events progressed similarly to ACD's original "The Final Problem," and also that asexual!Sherlock and heterosexual!John were, somehow, in love with each other at the time of Sherlock's disappearance…then this works as a stand alone story.

Series summary: These are my own sequels to BBC's Sherlock series one, started before series two aired and consequently AU as of January 2011. (That is to say, Moffat and I go our separate ways after The great Game.)
