Soooo... job application. Equal opportunities monitoring section. Sexual orientation, and the options are:
Bisexual
Gay Woman/Lesbian
Gay Man
Heterosexual/Straight
Prefer not to say
Right, sure, everything can be covered by four options. They couldn't at least have managed an 'Other' box?
The good part - it was a Word document with plenty of room for me to write in my actual orientation...
ETA: OK, my bad for assuming everyone would know what an Equal Opps form was for. As yet another person has commented with the same misunderstanding, let me clarify here - the contents of the form are not for consumption by anyone involved with making the decision about whom to hire. They're just kept on file so that the employer's practices can be examined if there's a question about whether they're fair.
