The Crow & the Butterfly- Shinedown Sarah had been called away months before just after Ashe had screamed at her over the silly comment about maybe Danny could be reborn. He had been trying so hard to not think about his lost child, he was having sleeping troubles since Sarah had left. Ashe had never in his life truely never alone, he had Danny to sleep beside before Sarah before Danny he had Holly until she grew bored with him and returned to her life of drugs. Before that he had his brothers and sisters he would jump from room to room even though he had had his own room. Ashe Corven had never had to sleep alone.
Now he had to, Sarah was gone. He had Gabriel of course but Gabriel seemed to sense that something was wrong when Ashe would throw something across the loft then run after it and clean up the mess. He was finding his temper short again like it had not been since before Danny's birth. Dannny's birth had made all that buried rage vanish with the first time holding his child. Now he didnt know what to do with his life and he had lashed out at the wrong people. He missed Sarah terribly he had even done the worst thing he could ever do... He read her diary. On the final page of the almost full book he wrote a simple phrase for her .
I love you Sarah, I gave up eternity for us to be together.
Yes I lost my son, but I dont want to lose you too.
When you get home, I will make all of it up to you, I promise.
- Michael Ashley Corven 12-28
Still he felt empty inside after writing in his journal he found himself at sitting on the floor with the cellphone Sarah had gotten him months before when they found each other again. Dialing an international number the voice he had expected to hear was not the voice he heard. It was a soft woman's voice "Micheal? Micheal is that you?" His mother had always been the one to use his first name not even his father used it. He could hear his fathers voice behind his mothers 'Of course it is who else would call from america! Did he answer."
"Mother....Daniel... is" He was choking up but he had not heard either of their voices since the day his son was born over 6 years ago when he cut off contact so they wouldn't be ashamed of him for marrying a junkie and giving up his old proud nature.
"What about Daniel, Michael? Is he okay?" His mother asked in a worried tone he could hear more voices gathering in the background, he knew were his siblings.
"Danny's dead mother. Daniel and I were both shot by a gang around here... my babies dead." He could hear the gasps for a moment before his mother kept calling his name but Ashe had dropped the phone and finally let it all out. Ashe sat on the floor with only the cat to see him and his worried family on the phone to hear the sobs that the second youngest Corven son was letting out. His battery died before he had fallen asleep on the floor, the emotional outburst had drained the mechanic. Gabriel finally padded over once Ashe's breathing became heavy with sleep and curled up next to the sleeping immortal.
