Ashe looked at her with a soft smile "I don't think anyone could stand up against you love." he spoke kissing her cheek as he walked with her, it helped him to keep close to her, though he had not felt worry like this in a love time having her at his side helped him keep his nerve.

The woman turned, her husband who looked to be almost 70 stood while his wife was huffing and puffing behind him, her own hard look staying with Selene's as he husband bowed his head some "I apologize for my wife, she has become very tempermental in her old age." The older man then took her hand and much like when his son tries to be dazzling he kissed her hand oppsed to shaking it. "It is a pleasure to meet you madame, I am Johnathan Corven, you may call me whatever you wish." The man spoke he gave her a kind smile as His wife started to make a noise like she was going to say something "Alexandra that is quite enough, you will apologize to this young lady right now. Your sister told you that Michael was not alone, it was very rude of you to do that and I told you to wait until they awoke. Now if you wish to say anything, it needs to be an apology to this woman." he spoke looking back at Alexandra, her and the two sitting in chairs near her both looked shocked. Johnathan was normally not one to speak out unless crosss. He then moved from Selene to Ashe pulling his son into a hug, Ashe seemed shocked for a second before letting go of Selene's hand and hugging his father back. "You've gone and grown up on me Michael." the old man spoke.

The Mother rolled her eyes at her husband yet kept her mouth shut for now sitting down, he was always so much more lenient then she ever was on their children. A voice from the back, his older sister spoke up, she had the same eyes and hair color as Ashe "Selene was it? My name is Maria, I'm Michael's older sister. I must ask, I could swear I know your face. Are you an actress or something?" She asked softly trying to keep the lady look about her, she was the only one whose eyes had not gone to Ashe when he appeared with Selene.

Selene gave a soft, sweet smile when he kissed her hand. She knew how to play nicely. "The pleasure is mine. Thank you." She stepped aside to let father and son reunite. It was cute. Enough that for a moment she was lost watching them. Ashe had walked away from his family and all she could think of watching the older man embrace his boy was how she would give anything in the world to feel her fathers arms around her again.

Her head turned away from the two men when she heard her name. At first expecting to get scolded by his mother. Instead she found the same beautifully green eyes peering at her with great interest. "I am afraid not Maria. Though my face has graced the cover of a magazine or two."

Was now the time to mention that Playboy had written an article about her and her ex-husband? She thought not. Selene took a seat near his sister, crossing her legs as she did.

"Nothing terribly fun, though. Popular Science. Forbes. Some military publication. I can't recall the name. Quite a bore." She glanced at the other man in the room, extending her hand. "And you are?"

Ashe couldn't help but hug the man a little tighter after a second. Only a few moments passed before he pulled away looking down at the older man as Ashe had a few inches on his father. "I'm sorry for all of the pain I have caused you." He spoke softly to the the man who just nodded "All you ever had to do was call Michael. That's it." His father spoke softly, he moved then to sit back down, the man was smiling, though his mother standing not far from her husband was not.

Maria looked at Selene a moment before nodding slowly "So you are someone of great importance then I see." She spoke a bit of a smile on her face, it was something only there becuase she knew she had to look graceful. Though she was not happy to be here. Her and Ashe's fight had been what had drove her brother off, she didn't want to be here but Mother ordered it.

The other man pushed up from his chair to move over shaking her hand, unlike his father he did not kiss the beautiful woman's hand "The other Johnathan Corven, it is a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Corvinus. I actally remember the articals you were in. Amazing that my younger brother could find such a remarkable woman." He spoke in a very calm tone. It was then that Ashe stepped up behind the couch placing a hand on Selene's shoulder giving his older brother a 'back the hell off' kind of look.

"Johnny, god you've aged terribly. You're already an old man." Ashe spoke with a bit of a grin on his face as the older one rolled his eyes a bit "I have nothing to say to you Michael. Not infront of our parents anyway." Shrugging a bit Ashe replied "Later then, I look forward to it."

Alexandra had taken a seat by her husband the scowl was slowly vanishing, not because of her son, no but the woman she had just been rude too. Alexandra had always been one to chase dreams, she aimed high and expected her children to aim higher. Hearing the woman her child was with was a big deal seemed to calm the woman. Which just made Ashe look a little bit annoyed. His hand stayed on Selene's shoulder however.

It was then that she spoke asking calmly "I have two questions for you, one. When is the last time you shaved Michael? You look terrible. Second, Are the two of you married?" She knew nothing of her son's life past the call he made when Danny was born. "Becuase I could swear you told me years ago your wife's name was Heather."

Ashe's hold on Selene's shoulder tightened a little, he did not want to deal with this so early in the day. Not having to explain this to his whole family.

"My company is of great importance, if it were not for the brilliant minds I employ we would be nothing. They are truly special, I just cross the T's and dot the I's." Selene was modest about her 'day job'. It was what she did at night that she took pride in. Drew her confidence from.

She took his hand and gave a firmer shake than a woman her size should have, but it was to make a point. Selene didn't like a thing he had said. It was only meant to take a dig at Ashe, which, to the woman in love with him, was a very foolish move. "In fact, I found Ashe. The fact that I was able to find such a remarkable man is what is truly amazing. Rich, powerful women are something of a cliche these days. A hard-working, lovable, talented man who makes his own path in life? That is quite the find, I assure you."

She rolled her eyes at the snide comments thrown Ashe's way. "Have you all come to berate him and put him down?" Her dark, stormy eyes looked at each and every one of them. "If you have I assure you this visit will come to a very sudden end. I will not have it. Do you all understand me?" Her voice left little room for argument and the look in her eyes was damn near dangerous.

Selene reached up and put her hand over Ashe's. Then looked pointedly at his mother. "Heather passed away, as did their son. Healing wounds need not be opened, don't you agree?"

She was seconds away from finding Raine and Grace and dragging all of them out of this house and away from this judgment. "Though, you have been blessed with another grandchild, Ashe adopted a wonderful little girl. Our daughter, Grace."

Johnny nodded softly sitting back "Such is the life of those in charge." he replied to her comment on her work, impressed by her handshake and it was when she spoke that the man was impressed with the way Selene spoke. She clearly was a woman of power and grace. He kept further comments to himself.

Maria was the one to look at the other woman. "Berate him? No, that is not why we came. We came to see what kind of man Michael had become other seas. To see if he had finally grown up or if he was some strung out junkie like we feared." she spoke softly "It seems he has grown up then and become someone respectful" She spoke to the other, the look in Selene's eyes had been enough to make her go silent. She was more then ready to go home.

His father smiled from his chair "It seems both are quite happy together, I could ask no more of anyone." He looked up to Ashe then "hard working, what is it you do my child?" He asked, yes he knew that his children and wife were kind of jerks but he mostly ignored them in his older age. His smile faded when he heard Selene mention the death of Heather and Danny, the old man's face paled "Oh my child, such a pain you shouldn't know at your age." The man spoke his voice sounding a bit more broken by the news that one of his grandchildern, much less one he never met was dead.

Alexandra was silent still, for now but when Ashe who was leaning against the back of the couch the other arm wrapping around her shoulder while the other hand remained on the other shoulder under her hand decided to answer his father she sat up quickly. "I'm a mechanic, I work with my hands and I quite enjoy my job It may no be the job I wanted in life but its the one I enjoy." He spoke, Alexandra looked ready to blow her top, the other three childern all had promsing future. One a musician, one owning two companies and the other being a model. But her youngest son working so low made her irate.

"You may be someone of power and money but that does not make you more important than I. I bore that ungreatful child in my womb, I raised him and thought he knew to be better then this!" Ashe kissed her cheek as his mother growled on her words "Would you like to go see some museums today darling?" He asked her as if his mothers words did not mean a thing.

His father was pushing himself up "The girl, was she a young teenager? I beleive I saw her with Elizabeta. I want to see her." He spoke moving towards the door, he could use the air anyway.

"You could have fooled me." Selene muttered. They were doing nothing but beating him up emotionally. His father was the only one she didn't have a venomous glare for.

His mothers words made her laugh. It took a great deal of self control not to spat harsh words about just how damn important she is. Selene rose from where she was sitting, even pushed Ashe's hands away from her. She took a dangerous step toward his mother. "How dare you call yourself mother. How dare you. Words such as those would never find their way to the tip of a mother's tongue."

She glanced at Ashe. "No. I would not. I'd like to pack our things and leave. Lock Grace in a box before this woman can have at her as well." Her eyes were back on Alexandra. "This is my family, damn you, they did not come from my womb but are mine no less and you will not speak one more ill word toward any of them or I'll slap them from your mouth."

Selene headed toward her room. Anger visibly rolling off of her in waves.

The sister waved a hand at Selene's words then. "It can be taken either way." but that smug attitude that the younger girl had seemed to vanish and be replaced with almost fear when the other raised her voice.

Johnny stood then to stand before his mother so that she could not advance Selene or in his mind Selene advance her. Ashe moved around the couch when his hands were moved, he didn't want any blood shed or violence in his aunts home. However when she said she wanted to leave he nodded turning towards the stairs "Raine! Go pack up Graces and your things! Were leaving today!"

The mother opened her mouth about to say something right back at her but hearing both voices speak that they were leaving seemed to take the piss and vinagar right out of her, as Selene was leaving the room Ashe looked at his mother then "You know, I never had any bad feelings for any of you. I just didn't want to be your damned doll anymore. I grew tired of being Marie's scape goat and I did not want your ideas of beating each other down to ever touch my precious son. That is why I never called back. I raised my child to be kind and honest but the creatures you raised us. And for the last fucking time, I hate the name Michael, I always have. It's Ashe." And with that he turned towards the way his father had headed "Selene dearest I'll be up as soon as I collect Grace!"

As he walked away from them he could hear his mother and sister both telling him not to. Still he walked on to the back door, He had walked away from them before he could do it again.
