Our local bookstore chain, Olsson's just closed all their stores.

Aw man, that's really too bad. I used to love stopping in their Courthouse location on the way home from work. It was such a nice change from the rest of the options in DC - I don't recall anything else other than Borders or B & N.

Kramerbooks (as Anathema mentioned below--I had forgotten about them) and Busboys and Poets. The problem is they're totally out of the way for me but Olsson's had a store in Old Town that I could walk to.

I loved the Penn Quarter one and would eat some good sandwiches there.

Sandry, what about Kramerbooks at Dupont? They are fun.

Ohh, yeah. I never liked that one very much because it was so palpably hip. Also crowded. *shrugsigh* Good point, though.

Point. I think I developed an affection for Kramerbooks during my early days of DC when I was insecure enough to want to be the hip people. Then I stayed for the opportunity to buy a Pratchett and read most of it while eating a brownie sundae.
