Book Update

As of July 4, I was at 15 books. Somehow, since then I've arrived at 32. Granted, a lot of it has been fluff. But, here's the recent reading list:

16) Bad Lands - Tony Wheeler*
17) Prisoner of Tehran - Marina Nemat*
18) Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen
19) Unlikely Destinations - Tony and Maureen Wheeler*
20) It's All Too Much - Peter Walsh*
21) Whitethorn Woods - Maeve Binchy
22) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling
23) A Darkness More Than Night - Michael Connelly
24) Murder on Mulberry Bend - Victoria Thompson
25) Echo Park - Michael Connelly
26) Break No Bones - Kathy Reichs
27) A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini
28) My Life as a Furry, Red Monster - Kevin Clash*
29) Caught Dead in Philadelphia - Gillian Roberts
30) The House of Seven Mabels - Jill Churchill
31) Philly Stakes - Gillian Roberts
32) Saints Behaving Badly - Thomas Craughwell*

The highlights of the list are definitely "Water for Elephants" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns." The two Tony Wheeler books were also pretty good. I figure I don't need to say much about Harry Potter since everyone else has also read it. The "furry red monster" book (by the puppeteer who created Elmo) I read because I heard him interviewed on NPR and he was hysterical. The book has moments, but was a bit sappy. The Saints book also had moments, but got a little preachy. "It's All Too Much" is by the organizer guy on "Clean Sweep"--it was good, but I don't think we were really the target demographic since we're not really all that cluttery. At least it made me feel like we're not that cluttery. The Binchy book was very typical Binchy--but interconnected stories rather than a full novel which I tend to like better anyway. The rest were really run of the mill mysteries.
