You're evacuating. What 5 things do you take with you?
You can interpret that question however you wish. I think that's part of what makes it interesting.
1) Safe from the office (has savings bonds, passports, ss cards, birth certificate, house and car titles)
2) Jewlery Box (most of what's in there isn't monetarily valuable, but has sentimental value, and my engagement ring is in there which I would definitely want)
3) Photo Albums (the more recent photos I have digitally, but especially the childhod albums)
4) Yearbooks (at least from senior year of high school)
5) Wedding Guestbook
The yearbooks might get replaced by the laptop. Or, ideally, I'd make John count the safe as part of his 5 which would give me 1 more item.
This is all assuming it's the type of evacuation where you actually have time to grab stuff but for some reason you can only bring 5 things and not, say, a car load like you'd actually be able to bring. I'm also assuming that things I normally have with me (keys, phone, wallet) when I go out are automatic. If we were evacuated (for a hurricane or something) we'd drive to one of our parents' houses, so food, shelter, clothing wouldn't be that big of a concern (again, assuming for whatever reason, you can only take 5 things.) We have money, I can buy new clothes.
Of course, in the event that actually happened, the car would be filled and we'd take clothes and shoes and stuff because most of these 5 things are pretty small.
