So, I'm basically at the end of my rope and Tyler told me today that he'd like to see me snap (preferably at one of the kids). Let me tell you that I came awfully close today when this kid named Egan (who all week has been late, been talking back, and just been a general pain in the ass) came up to me and asked, "Why are you being such a bitch to me all week?" I almost lost it right there, but rather than just let loose on him, I just kind of looked at him and walked away and let Pieter give him a little chat; Brian (the head pro) has promised me that we'll do something to this kid...hopefully something painful like hills or some kind of psychological torture. This stupid bitch Marie (the girl pro I can't stand) is only making things worse because she's being all buddy-buddy with Egan and his 2 girl cohorts. I just ready to loose it and I can't wait to leave. All of the kids this week are terrible and it doesn't help that none of them give a shit...so I ask you, if none of them give a damn, why the hell should I?
Lucky for me, my sanity, and these kids, I have the afternoon off tomorrow and I get to go tubing with my parents, which sould be a stress reducer. I've had a pretty good time overall this summer, and I was hoping to end on a good note, but it's looking less and less like that's going to happen.
One random note: we seem to get kids with weird names or in bunches. Last week we had a Maggie, a Margi, a Marlee, a Marlene, and a Maddie and this week we have a Marsh and a Tallman (what were those parents thinking?).
Other than that, I can't wait to get back to school to see everyone (and meet our new ball machine) and be able to get back to playing tennis instead of coaching spoiled kids who don't want to try. It's really depressing when I would give anything to have gotten to play more this summer and these kids are totally wasting this opportunity.
After I leave here on Sunday (right at noon, mind you), I have Monday and Tuesday to pack, then I'm off to the beach with my parents for a couple of days, then 10 hours down to Hilton Head to coach there for one week and then back to good ole Agnes. So Monday and Tuesday will consist of me frantically trying to pack and find things that have been misplaced in the moving process, since we haven't actually unpacked everything and a bunch of stuff is still AWOL.
By next May, I'm sure I'll be ready to be back here for the summer, but right now, I'm just counting down the hours.
Wow, that was a long rant, but I really needed to get that off my chest and it may keep me from exploding into tiny little pieces and getting goo all over the courts tomorrow :)
