Angel 5.20 "The Girl In Question"
One of the things I used to hate most about StarTrek was how they'd shift gears. One episode the fate of the universe would hang in the balance, then the next episode would be a silly romp and all the other rules wouldn't apply. I hated that, it seemed stupid, hypocritical, and insulting.
That's what I liked about Joss Whedon's works, it had a good tone, it didn't shift gears in such an insulting fashion.
'til lately.
This season in particular (and a tiny smidge of last).
That's one thing, but worse, if you're going to shift gears, don't mess up thing which you've already accomplished and accomplished well.
Don't mention Buffy, if you're not going to have her on.
If you're going to fake Buffy, don't use a cheap ugly flat blond wig.
Don't have her on a stupid episode like this, thank you.
Don't make reference to "Chosen", it was great episode ... don't mess it up in hind-sight.
They brought back Darla and Drusilla for this? The four of them together is supposed to be menacing -- something to behold, not stupid camp.
We don't even get to see 'The immortal' I almost think that's a good thing.
Andrew camped up? {eye-roll} No! His character is already on the edge of stupid/comic relief -- don't push it over the edge, don't ruin him in hind-sight.n
I didn't appreciate the obnoxious comment about 'Violent Americans' especially when one of them has a British accent {sneers}.
And the coat too?
It was insulting on so many levels ...
If there's something I left out -- yes, it did piss me off. Ask me about it, I need to vent.
Not worse than 'Smile Time', but close.

I did sort of like the creepy Fred/Ilyra plot.
I didn't watch the trailer, all I can say is it better be better than this one, don't tell me I'll find out.
