Used book binge.

I wanted a book. One book. I knew I could get one at the used book store, I didn't think I could find a new crisp one like I wanted, but I had to check, before I plop down retail price for something I can get cheaper.

On Wednesday I go to the used bookstore and of course they have a copy, but not a crisp and new one like I wanted. So I go around and get everything else they have. Then I go buy one at the local Barnes & Noble.

Later that evening I thought to myself I didn't spend as much as I thought I did, and there were some pretty choice books which were new for used prices which I passed up. Also there was one at Barnes & Noble I passed up. So I go back to the bookstore the next day and buy a whole batch of books, of course they didn't have the one I was going to buy at Barnes & Noble again, and the choice new books I had my eye on the day before were already gone, but of course that didn't stop me.

A friend was looking for a Foo Fighter's CD, I told them I'd check. So I went into the CD section (a dangerous proposition) to look for it on Wednesday. Thursday I decided to go back in ... (again dangerous) as I go in they're playing some weird music it sound kinda like "Don't fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult, only it's not. It turned out to be "Things" by the Meat Puppets. I used to have the album with that on it, but my tape got eaten a long time ago. Anyway In my search for Foo, I decide to go to Nirvana to see if they filed it there for some reason. On my around I saw copy of the Meat Puppets album for a price too good to pass up. It's the first CD I bought since 2002 ("Once More with Feeling"). I thought that was really weird I only saw one too. I didn't see a bunch like they're marketing them or anything. I still there might be some weird covert plot to get me to spend money ... very strange though.
Here's a list the booty (as in another word for pirate treasure I aquired) prices are by the stuff which isn't shamefully expensive:

Siddartha
Farenheit 451
Slaughterhouse V
Hearts in Atlantis
The Fountainhead
Treasure Island 0.25
Future Shock 0.05
Green Mile 1 thur 6 0.25 a piece
Tale of Two cities 0.95
The Dead Zone 1.20
The Stranger 0.95
Walden 0.50
Catcher in the Rye 0.95
Nickel and Dimed 3.00 though book is relatively new.
Meat Puppets - "Too High to Die"

So now I have more books than I'll ever read. I think some of it is simply the joy of consuming. I think I will read some of them, but who knows.

book, nonstat, cw, materialism, music
